| Brigadier (127), Bloomington, Indiana | | May 13, 2012 If you find yourself in the Delmar Loop area make sure you stop at this local landmark. For atmosphere and American fare Blueberry Hill can’t be beat. For selection of local, regional, and international taps however Cicero’s is the place to visit.
Parking can be a bit problematic depending on timing although there is plenty behind the building. Try the local menu options along with a beer from 4 Hands or other regional breweries. If you are local check out the Beer School to meet other people into the scene. | lawnchair (1), Saint Louis, Missouri does not count - explanation | | March 25, 2012 I’m a big fan of Cicero’s. Their pizzas and burgers are delicious, and the wide beer selection is excellent. | | seymour (37), Saint Louis, Missouri | | November 9, 2011 This is a cool restaurant in one of the city’s best areas; I’d come here for the pizza and to hear bands play anyway. So the fact they have more taps and chilled bottle beers than you can shake a stick at makes it a dream destination. I haven’t bought a growler to-go, but I thinks it’s great that you can. There is a well-organized and educational beer book on each table. The staff is extremely beer-wise and they even host periodic "Beer School" series complete with brewer reps. Highly recommended. | | Dogbrick (423), Columbus, Ohio | | March 24, 2011 (Visited 09/2009): Cicero’s is located on Delmar Blvd a couple miles of I-170 in the University City area. There is street parking around as well as a lot attached to the building.
The inside is separated into a bar on the right and more of a deli on the left. The pub side is split level with a pool table and seating around the short bar. On the deli side, there is a brighter color scheme and a view of the kitchen. There is also a beer cooler for brews to go.
The beer selection at Cicero’s is decent. There are around 50 beers on tap from brewers like North Coast, Left Hand, New Belgium, O’Fallon, Bell’s etc. As for bottles there are over 100 with domestic choices like Boulevard, O’Fallon, Schlafly, Southern Tier etc and imports from Chimay, Duvel, Ayinger and others. Cicero’s has a few different samplers available and also runs a "beer school".
Service was good on an early weekday lunch. The server made good recommendations and was kind enough to bring samples.
The food at Cicero’s is pretty good. My teriyaki wrap was tasty.
Overall this is a pretty cool spot to check out in the St. Louis area.
| | JoeinEscazú (200), San Jose, Costa Rica | | September 6, 2010 Extra points for being the club that helped Uncle Tupelo launch its star. Plenty of interesting tap and bottle choices, varied and tasty menu, and popular with locals of all sorts. Hard not to like this place. | LittleItaly (3), does not count - explanation | | October 5, 2009 Love this place on nice days! Just sittling outside enjoying a good beer and good food! | | sroberts (26), Columbia, Missouri | | September 7, 2009 Great place for beer and thin crust pizza. | | Strykzone (71), Wood River, Illinois | | September 2, 2009 Have been there twice and sat outside both times. A beer menu that is beyond impressive. Always new stuff. Food has been good both times but is the secondary reason that I go. Those 50 some taps and wonderful bottle list is. It is located in my favorite area of St. Louis, the U City Loop area. There is always so much going on there and people watching is great. | | phaleslu (241), Saint Louis, Missouri | | July 17, 2009 [ Updated May 18, 2011 ] The Loop is a fun area of town and this is toward the western end of it. I went to plenty of shows there in college before the big fire, and it’s a totally different-looking place now. Instead of a smoky, low-lit, neon-decorated place, the new Cicero’s is bright, clean, and decorated with art. The clientele hasn’t changed, which is good. The music venue is still there. The food is decent, with great St. Louis style pizza, huge salads, and a lot of sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, entrees, and pasta dishes. Probably over 100 bottles, with a wide range of styles and places represented. The 40-50 taps also represent a wide range of styles and local, regional, national, and international brews. Huge selection, even if not the most exciting stuff around, so you can pretty much always find something new. I’ll keep coming back here. | | lizziec (10), , | | June 17, 2009 Great selection of beer on tap, one of the best in the area. Food is good. Worth a trip. |
