| Gerbeer (10), vancouver, British Columbia | | May 17, 2012 One of the best places in Vancouver for Belgian beer. Servers are knowledgeable. Food is on the expensive side and somewhat limited but very good. | | aj1451 (12), Vancouver, British Columbia | | February 7, 2012 All and all, the reason that I keep going to Beircraft is the cask. they are one of the few places in the city that I can almost always get cask ale. The belgian selection is good and they have them on tap and bottles as well. Lagunitas is a great addition to the beer list and the consistantly have a couple of west coast hop bombs that are fun to try. The bartenders are the most knowledgeable and when we go there I always prefer to sit at the bar. Service is consistent and the food is almost standard pub fare but prepared fresh. | | HenryXXX (10), British Columbia | | December 24, 2011 I love how knowledgeable the staff is with the beer list. They truly have a passion for beer. The food is a little weak when compared to the beer, but I still love the place!!! | | fiulijn (273), Como, Italy | | August 28, 2011 Been there when it was still Stella. It’s a cool place to hang out in the evening, and I like in general the atmosphere on Commercial Dr., but their focus on Belgian beers doesn’t attract me. | | rhhm (10), British Columbia | | August 31, 2010 Stella’s is one of my favourite places to go for casual dining and a great beer selection. The food prices are reasonable and the quality is consistent... the the six or seven mussel dishes are always good (be sure to get a side of bread to soak up the sauce with), the salads are decent, and the tapas, while not traditional in the Spanish or Portuguese sense, are tasty with a fusion flair about them.
Stella’s has an very good selection of Belgian beers that spans four pages. Most are in the $9 range, which is a little high in my books, especially when many can be purchased either at the BC Liquor Store or at the specialty beer stores in town. Their tasting notes for each of the beers is very accurate, and the staff seem, for the most part, knowledgeable about the different beers.
Stella’s can get very noisy... However, if you are looking for some great moules frites and an good selection of Belgian beers, Stella’s is the place to go.
| | mcberko (59), Vancouver, British Columbia | | June 15, 2010 Weak selection on taps, but very nice bottle selection - but the prices are terrible - about double to triple what they would cost from the liquor store - and due to this, I doubt I would return. | | stantheman (12), British Columbia | | January 9, 2010 [ Updated May 20, 2012 ] A virtual Mecca for lovers of Belgian bottled beer. I’m not really familiar with the tap selection. Staff, of course are very knowledgeable of Belgian beer. Upscale, trendy and (as you’d expect) pricey. Of late I’ve started to notice the staff are rather pushy on ordering. I frequently fire up Ratebeer on my iPad, and peruse ratings before ordering. They don’t like the delay, even though it’s not busy. I think I’ll be taking my few dollars elsewhere for a while, maybe to their location on Cambie St. I haven’t noticed any push at that location. | | JoeMcPhee (398), Toronto, ON, Ontario | | May 20, 2009 Stopped by here for a few snacks and some drinks. They have a pretty good selection of Belgian’s and the staff seem to know the product. The food was pretty stellar actually, and was fairly priced for what you received. Four of us ate and had a few rounds and the bill was under 80 bucks. I think the draught selection could be improved, but they certainly do have a lot of bottles. Nice low lighting and music that isn’t intrusive give the place a nice chilled vibe. I enjoyed it and I’d recommend it as a place for an evening out with friends. | | goatboy (42), Vancouver, British Columbia | | January 29, 2009 [ Updated April 7, 2012 ] Whenever I’m in town I make a point of stopping by this place, They have Ok food, good service & a comfortable bar to sit at and sample lots of unique Belgian beer’s, A little pricey though, its located in a funky neighborhood on Commercial Drive with lots of Italian shops and stores. I think it’s one of the best places to drink Belgian Beer in Vancouver. | | knowbeer (10), , British Columbia | | January 29, 2009 Nice selection of Belgians, but quite a bit pricier than I care to pay. Worth a try, but not somewhere I’d frequent. |
