Simkatu (1), Vero Beach, Florida does not count - explanation | | September 20, 2011 This place has 51 beers on tap and they actually don’t screw that up, but their management is so incompetent that I’d rather suffer through a night of drinking swill at Chili’s than deal with these pompous a-holes.
They advertise $2 off per beer at happy hour. I ordered a beer that is regularly priced at $3 (a Naragansett since I am originally from Rhode Island). I get my bill and they charged me $5.50/ea for the Gansetts. Since I already scanned my card the manager asks if I’ll accept $9 off next time I am in the place. I agree. Next time I’m in the previous manager is no where to be found and the current management refuses to give me my $9 refund and refuse to even attempt to call the previous manager about my $9 mistake. When I insist they remove $9 from my current tab, they manager says they will call the cops if I don’t pay the tab. I’m 55 years old. I’ve never been kicked out of a place in my life and never been treated like this before at any of the hundreds of establishments I’ve been to. Long story short, this place doesn’t care about its customers.
I’d suggest you try Bodega Blue or Kilted Mermaid if you like good beer and good service. | | beernovice39 (146), South Carolina | | August 11, 2011 Stopped in for breakfast. Nothing like a sample tray of craft beer with some Young’s Double Chocolate pancakes. Great service! | | hopscotch (187), Vero Beach , Florida | | February 6, 2011 The place is set up a lot like Pizza Port in Carlsbad and Founders in Grand Rapids. High ceiling, loud, wide open and lots of wooden benches and twenty or so seats at the bar. They have several large flat screen TVs. My only gripe with the layout is that there aren’t many seats with a back to them. I have terrible posture and really hate sitting on a stool or picnic bench. The selection of beers is very good. They have as good a selection as a place in Vero Beach can have (Florida distribution is totally wack). Chances are great they will have something on tap or in a bottle that you love. Maybe not fifteen beers you love, but at least one two or three. The food ranges from good to great. The burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches are great... everything else is just pretty good. I know for a fact that at least one of the bartenders is as knowledgeable as Hell about craft beer (otakuden); the rest of them, I have no idea. Since I only go to the place for burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches and beer; I absolutely love it. |
