LarryBeast (2), , does not count - explanation | | April 11, 2012 Daily cask just $5 a pint. Can’t beat that.
Food used to be a lot better and is now hit or miss. Having said that, their pulled pork nachos are the bomb and you’re depriving yourself if you leave without picking up a few of the best chocolate truffles in town.
Beer selection and quality is second to none. | | fiulijn (273), Como, Italy | | August 26, 2011 As I visited the place on a warm summer day, the patio with view on the bay is fantastic. They have many beers on tap, some are offered on draught, in bottles or hand-pumped, so it’s just up to the customer to choose; and this also means that for some beers it’s possible to have less carbonation and less cold temperature; on top of this, they are very flexible and sell samplers by the glass (not forcing to have by group of 4 or 5 glasses). | | adnielsen (277), Fort Collins, Colorado | | August 8, 2011 My favorite stop during my day trip/ beer tour of Victoria. Right out on the harbor, so it’s cool to sit out on the deck. Lots of beers to taste and most were quality beers. | | GJF (39), Cedar Rapids, Iowa | | July 13, 2011 Nice place on the edge of Victoria. Quiet neighborhood and a pretty quiet bar (which for me is great). Service was OK. Pretty good range of beers--some really good, some not. Food was decent but a bit pricey for what you get. | | pumpmaster (43), Pembroke Pines, Florida | | July 9, 2011 Great location with very good and extensive selection of beers. Had two sample trays. | | paco (20), Regina, Saskatchewan | | March 29, 2011 Great place with a great view. Lots of wood as expected on the inside. There are 2 pool tables and 2 dart boards that are not crowded by chairs, which is awesome. The menu had typical pub food and some nicer options as well. The cheese and beer pot was incredible. We enjoyed a beer flight of 4 good sized beers for something like $10. Excellent service as well. Great place to visit when in Victoria. | | DuffMan (185), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta | | October 10, 2010 Beautiful location on the waterfront, with a cozy maritime theme. amazing chocolate & treat shop at the entrance, where you can also buy their bottled beers. Upstairs there are 3 plasmas to enjoy NFL Sunday on. Terrific service, great food. The cheese tray with matching beers is very well done. | | BrewDad (360), Olympia, Washington | | October 1, 2009 After taking a water taxi across the bay we arrived to Spinnakers Brewpub and wow what a view of the entire bay. The beer better be good and after trying the taster tray I was impressed. This was going to be our final meal and beers on our Victoria BC trip. The English bitter was buttery and tasty. The dark ales where also very good and the porter was one fine brew. This place made there own malt vinegar with the beer malts so they had about 5 different flavors from English ale to porter malt vinegars. We found out you can also stay here and over look the bay all night. I am thinking next time we might try to stay here. We found the service to be very good and the food was also excellent. We will be back. | | beermagnet (15), Quebec | | September 29, 2009 great view hard to beat, almost on the harbor in vistoria, the location is great, the beer is okay but sometimes the location beats the beer! | | Maltybones (17), Calgary, Alberta | | August 2, 2009 What a great place to have a beer and watch the boats come in! A huge brewpub, that mixes spacious, open areas with more pub-like nooks and crannies. Good service, with the staff very willing to talk beer for a few moments. Great selection of beers, including seasonals and an astounding 4 cask ales in fantastic condition when I was there last. Tasters/flights are a great way to try out many of the different brews. Very pleasant food with enough options to match any of the many beers that will hit you palate. |
