| PeterA (15), , Slovak Republic | | December 4, 2010 Made the trip from Bratislava on a Friday morning. Since the store was empty when we got there, the owner was more than happy to talk to us - and help carry our purchases to the car. The selection of English and Belgian beers was pretty good, and there was a small selection of glassware. It was a chilly morning and I wonder what effect the heat from the radiator has on the shelves of beer less than a meter away.
There’s a nice selection of brewing supplies in the back room as well. | | mross (12), Vienna, Austria | | April 18, 2010 It is a long trip getting to this store if you are traveling from the inner districts, and without a car, but they do have the best selection of bottled beer in Vienna. Prices are reasonable, although somewhat high on certain beers. Nice selection of glassware. Overall...a good beer store. | danielst (6), Vienna, Austria does not count - explanation | | March 31, 2010 [ Updated April 12, 2010 ] Having the best bottle selection in Vienna makes it worth taking the seemingly endless journey from the city’s center to the outskirts. The prices range from moderately high to pretty high on some beers. The owner is helpful, contact via e-mail is quick and unproblematic. Glad to see a little more american beers around recently. | garrettdcole (5), Vienna, Austria does not count - explanation | | August 1, 2009 This is hands down the best beer shop in Wien. The selection includes a small but well chosen assortment of Belgian and British beers, with a few interesting Austrian and German choices. As an American living here I can vouch that the owner speaks near perfect English, far better than meine sehr schlecht Deutsch. I felt that the service was rather pleasant and will certainly return soon. Check out the website as it carries an up-to-date beer list. | | armando629 (71), Budapest, Hungary | | June 13, 2009 I haven’t got bad experiences like Ogivlado. I’ve bought some english ales and a german porter one, the stuff was helpfull. The shop has a bigger capacity than it servs at the moment. The selfs was half-fulled:) The owner had found an other partner from England, the new beers will be available in the near future. | | ogivlado (242), Zagreb, Croatia | | March 27, 2009 [ Updated March 28, 2009 ] Not so difficult to find when you hit the right road or exit (Stadlau) but if you miss it coming here can be night mare (especially by night). Good selection of British, Belgian and Austrian beers. Some of them are in the fridge and you can drink them on sight. I’m not sure if owner speaks English because only we have been there for 20 minutes, and he didn’t express any interes for us, nor has he asked us anything. No matter what, very irresponsible and highly unprofessional; our bill was more than 100€ and we didn’t get any timid smile from him. | | Geiserich (38), Vienna, Austria | | February 22, 2009 Essential beer shop for british beer lovers. Maybe the best selection of british beers in austria. Nice selection of belgian beers, some austrian and german beers (Schneider, Schlenkerla, Weltenburger) and some others. Unfortunately the shop owner told me, that is british exporter cancelled selling beers abroad. I’ll keep my fingers crossed, that there is a alternative. |
