| Dutchie1 (2), , does not count - explanation | | April 12, 2011 Great place but a little bit crowded sometimes. But nethertheless always nice to be there | | deanso (103), the Hague, Netherlands | | March 21, 2011 A great place :-) A decent selection of interesting beers on tap. Ask for the beer book! It’s huge with a selection of very interesting beers. I had a nice chat with the owner, a very friendly guy, who showed me some of the rare stuff he has in stock. Well worth a visit | jaspe007 (8), Utrecht/Wageningen, Netherlands does not count - explanation | | November 1, 2010 As a student in Wageningen, I come here about once a week. Most beers are affordable. Downside is that they do not have many rares, but you can find most of the Belgians here, and quite some English as well (which I don’t really care for). I like the boss Carel and even though he isn’t a talker, he’s very friendly and definitely knows what he talks about. Best pub in Wageningen. | | skortila (125), Baarn, Netherlands | | September 9, 2009 Been here some times when my sister still studied in this small town with more students than ’normal’ civilians. Located in the center of Wageningen. They have a nice selection of belgian beers and when I was there even an aged version of the Optimo Bruno on tap. Nice! | | Borresteijn (97), Amsterdam, Netherlands | | September 2, 2009 This is the place where I had my first serious encounter with Belgian beer and had my first Orval. Nice medium sized brown café at the main square, really beery, not too noisy, still many students here, but they make up a quarter of the total Wageningen population. Good selection with all kinds of styles on tap, and a varied list of bottled beers, mainly dominated by Belgians and English beers, including their housebeer brewed at De Fontein. I believe they also have a selection of aged beers in the cellar. Service is good, very knowledgeable. Definitely worth a visit when you’re in Wageningen. |
