funkyaudio (8), Chicago, Illinois does not count - explanation | | April 23, 2012 Not really my favorite brew pub very plain looking looks like they just setup in an office. | beerdetox (2), Illinois does not count - explanation | | March 26, 2012 Place has drawbacks but food is not one of them. Tap house burger rocks, loaded fries, rock, pulled pork, so good. I have never had a bad entree or appetizer there. For brewpub stuff, above average. I agree with other posters, I like two brother’s beer so I don’t mind the standards but there is not a lot of "special" beers available usually. Still a fine place to go. | | KAF (100), Coralville, Iowa | | February 8, 2012 Did not have a good experience here. There beers are generally good, but the service was not. I ordered one of their sours and when I smelled it and then tasted it I knew it was Cane and Ebel, which is a good beer, but not what I ordered. When I went back to the bar and told the bartender he had poured me the wrong beer he told me, no, he did not. I then told he I ordered their sour offering and he said that is what he had poured me. I then told him to taste it, which he did, and then realized he was wrong. He did not apologize or admit he was wrong, but simply poured the beer I ordered, took back the Cane and Ebel, and gave me my beer. | | Dogbrick (423), Columbus, Ohio | | June 28, 2011 (Visited 11/2010): Visited Two Brothers after thinking I was lost, which is evidently a common experience for visitors. I actually visited two nights in a row because there was a private event being held at the brewery the evening of my first attempt. The brewery is located on the northwest side of Warrenville on Talbot in a seemingly residential area. There is a private lot as well as street parking.
The interior is softly lit, with the bar on the left side and table seating throughout. The bar area boasts TVs and a view of brewing equipment.
Two Brothers has about 10 of their beers on draught, including most of their flagship brews plus a couple less common offerings like Heavier Handed IPA, Long Haul Session and Resistance IPA. They also offer a 5 beer sampler. There are about 30 bottles on the menu too.
Service in the restaurant area on a weeknight was solid. Our server was familiar with the beers and efficient.
Food at Two Brothers is good. My colleague and I both enjoyed our dishes.
Overall this place is worth the difficulties finding it. Recommended for any visitor to the area, and may even be worthwhile visiting from the Chicago area. | | ck1 (19), Illinois | | June 20, 2011 Went the day before HopJuice fest. In the back end of an industrial park, not unlike Three Floyds. Pretty tasty food, with prices as to be expected in that area. Attentive service, although service was much better at the bar than at the bar area tables. Like everyone else says, would be nice if they made small batches for the tap house, rather than just serving what you can get anywhere. Will be interesting to see if that changes somewhat when the Roundhouse location opens up. Other than that, was a nice place to have a (presumably) fresh beer. | | jrallen34 (207), Chicago, Illinois | | March 31, 2011 This review is going to stick to the quality of the experience of the brew pub food and atmosphere and the brewery tour.
A place thats a little hard to find but just follow the directions on their website and you’ll find it easily. Hard to find the actual entrance though. A pretty nice brewpub, wharehous feel. The food was really good, recommend most things there.
The beer selection on taps sucks as its just their year round beers, which suck, and only 2 seasonals of their. If you are a prebub have some unique stuff brothers.
Bottle selection is varied and nice.
The tour is pretty good, its free takes about 45 minutes and you get 3 free samples at the end. The problem is its heavy on backstory of the brothers, which was mildly fascinating and short on actual brewing.
The brewery is really nice, you can tell these guys have some money.
Its worth a Saturday afternoon trip to eat lunch then go on the tour. Do not go to drink good beer as there is very little of that there, and its lack the creativity of one offs and special brews that most brew pubs have. | efdejesus (2), Naperville, Illinois does not count - explanation | | March 3, 2011 An excellent place to go for a meal or drink. Ambiance is nothing fancy. Beer selection is excellent. They always have one of their beers cask conditioned on the weekend. In addition to their usual lineup there is an excellent bottle selection representing not only other domestic craft brews but heavy on the Belgians. The food is always excellent from the bar food to the specials that Chef Tommy makes. Highly recommended. | | dragonlady1010 (25), Illinois | | October 27, 2010 Hard to find. Kind of a sparse, industrial feel. Noisy. Service is variable...some nights quick and attentive and some slow and disinterested. Would like to see a larger menu and more seasonal beers. Love the Cane and Ebel! | | Juelze (23), Green Bay, Wisconsin | | August 23, 2010 Beer is meh, but the patio and eating area are nice. A really odd location in a business park. Has a nice bottle of selection for you to pick if you do not want to drink their beer. | | NobleSquirrel (161), Chicago, Illinois | | August 9, 2010 This is easily the biggest let down of a "brewpub" I’ve ever been to. Mostly because it was nothing more than a place to peddle their normal beers. I don’t get the impression that they do any experimental batches here, which is a shame. It really is a beautiful brewery, but such a letdown... |
