| Travlr (637), Washington, Washington DC | | October 15, 2011 Liquor store with a decent enough selection of beers. High end, though, both the beer and the booze. | | GT2 (196), Washington DC | | July 10, 2011 No reason to go here the way I see it. Wildly overpriced, staff there seem to stare you down and anxiously wait to see if you are going to be conned into such ridiculous pricing. This place still have six packs of Hopslam for something absurd like $30 a six pack, unrefrigerated, and 5+ months old. I walk in here from time to time because of having a wait at Paradiso across the street or maybe after getting empanadas at Panas; but I have never bought anything here. There are tons of bottles in about four refrigerators in the back; but nothing too exciting. Really one of the first places I’ve been where service is worse than having no service and value that is so off the wall, the owners just need to visit their competition and release they have been living under a rock their whole life. That or idiot frat boys keep coming in here and buying overpriced mediocre imported stuff that any half decent grocery store would also carry. If this is in ratebeer, then maybe we should add every grocery store in Oregon to PLACES as well. | | gsmitty80 (153), Washington DC | | July 9, 2011 Stopped in to buy soem beers to take t a party. They had a good selection of about 5 coolers of 6 packs and two coolers of high end singles. I was asked if i needed help by at least 3 different people which was nice but i didn’t need any. The downside was that the place was overpriced on most items. | | auerbrau (232), Peace Dale, Rhode Island | | April 27, 2011 I don’t think this place is worth going to with Conn Ave right around the corner. Many attentive Indian men offering to help me find things, bu they were lacking many of the more interesting regional brews (like Stillwater). Layout was scattered too. I think they’re trying to be too many things here. | | 3fourths (962), Boulder, Colorado | | August 21, 2010 small shop. one shelf up front, a couple in the back. varied selection for an out of towner but few single format bottles were chilled. no service but didn’t exactly look like I should expect it. | | treadyroc (18), St. Leonard, Maryland | | June 22, 2010 If you’re in the area, or anywhere in NW DC, I think this place is worth a visit. You’re greeted by a floor-to-ceiling bottle wall, but that’s not it. One corner of coolers down the left & in front, then it continues around the side. Single bombers as well as 4-/6-packs. Very decent selection, & the staff was helpful in pointing out beer locations. Entire basement for wine & cigars. |
