| BMWiens (11), Texas | | August 13, 2011 A great little neighborhood restaurant featuring Belgian cuisine and Belgian-style beers. Good selection of Belgians and US East Coast Belgian-style beer. Food is great, if you like Belgian. Service is sometimes better than others: never bad but some servers know their beer and food better than do others. I stop in every time I’m in DC on business (a few times a year). Never had to wait for a table, never seen a line, maybe because I’m generally there weekdays. | | shuribear (20), Washington DC | | March 27, 2010 This is primarily a restaurant with some Belgian beers rather than a beer bar per se, but you will certainly not want for a delicious beer while enjoying one of the tastiest restaurants in the area. Terrific staff...without a doubt worth more than a few visits. | | Nate (246), Indiana, Pennsylvania | | March 7, 2010 Nice place near the Eastern Market Metro. Make a reservation! We did, luckily, but the line to ’wait’ was at least an hour for those who didn’t. The food selection is very good. I tried the foie du canard as an app (smoky and tons of it) and some mussels for dinner. My wife enjoyed their halibut. The beer selection was decent, but overpriced for what it was. Service was very good and the food is great. If you’re going just to drink, however, you can find cheaper alternatives with lower prices. | | beckstein (17), | | February 19, 2009 Great place. Beer selection is good, but the food is excellent. One of the best Belgian restaurants I’ve found in US | | Travlr (637), Washington, Washington DC | | November 26, 2008 [ Updated April 10, 2010 ] Chef Bart has a flair for pairing Belgian beers with traditional and modern Belgian food. Monthly beer tasting with their beer manager Jens, who is from Alveringem in West Falnders (home of the de Snoek brewery and museum). Special events on the restaurants anniversary in October, and on the Belgian king’s birthday. | cawbo (6), Virginia does not count - explanation | | May 14, 2006 Was in DC for a small vacation this weekend and took a party of 7 for dinner on Sat night. The food is goumet along with the prices. Excellent pairing of food choices with beer. Also a very nice wine list. Everyone loved it. Plenty of beer choices with matching glasses. Service was top notch with head chef checking on everyone throughout the meal. Not a large place make reservations. Within a few steps of the Eastern Market Metro stop. | | jefcon (35), Arlington, Virginia | | June 15, 2005 Rotating Belgians on tap. Offerings such as Rodenbach and Westmaille accompany the trio of Chimays. Good food, neighborhood feel on Capitol Hill, and a solid offering of beer backs up this place’s growing good rep. | | argo0 (184), Washington DC | | October 24, 2004 [ Updated October 26, 2004 ] This is a very good Belgian restaurant, and it offers up good Belgian beers to go with the great food. Many of the beers are available elsewhere, but that’s no reason to complain, especially since this place is in walking distance to my house. Prices for the beer, however, are a bit high. Reservations for dining strongly recommended. |
