One of two locations, the other is near Metro Center. This one is literally inside of the old Postal building across the street from Union Station. Inside is a large restaurant with brewing equipment. Beer is very mediocre and mostly brewed for fun. Nothing is really worth getting a pint of so best try a bunch of tasters. I don’t think any of their beer pours with a head and it may all be force carbonated for all I know. The brewing equipment they are using here is so old that when this place shuts down (in a few days), the equipment is turning into scrap metal rather than being sold or used by another brewery. Food is Applebee’s caliber. Very poor. Actually pretty depressing to go here. Service has been poor the three times that I’ve been here. Almost impossible to get a drink and if ordering food, the staff can have an attitude with large groups. I’m not too upset that it’s closing.

Large and cool brewpub with decent beers. They had 8 of their owns on tap when I was there. I will definitely go here again next time im in DC.

This is your typical large brewpub. It is very open and spacious inside with a good patio to boot. Prices are DC level. The beer was okay, not great or bad. I did like that they attempted some interesting styles like a saison or an imperial stout. I just had some keg rolls and pretzels with tasty horseradish sauce. Just having a regular appetizer I don’t feel I have a qualified opinion on the food. It was a decent stop, but it just feels like a chain restaurant for yuppies.

It looks a bit like the Gordon Biersch location in DC with the high ceilings and the polished brass and I couldn’t beleive this place had any regulars,. It would be like hanging out a Wal-Mart. The bar was oddly shaped with a bar setup on each side which meant you might have three different bartenders serve you. They had the typical 4-6 house brews and they also had 4 seasonal ales. Nothing was outstanding or even noteworthy. The prices are what you’d expect for the district which is to say high. The hamburger was quite tasty and I loved the free soft pretzels at the bar, but there’s absolutely no reason for me ever to return.

Cool brewpub right near Union Station. The location is great and the beers are okay. Definitely worth a stop in to any of their locations.

In DC for 2 hours, this was my first stop so I could tick a DC beer. Located in one of the many Smithsonian museums and right next to Union Station this is easy to find, meaning its also touristy in appearance and quality. The place is new looking and cleaning inside, but sterile, no personality to it. Too big to be a nice cozy brew pub. Metal casks in the middle of the bar, some brewing equipment on the second flood that you don’t have access to...A beer draft menu of 8 beers, 4 regular and 4 rotating. Represented a variety of styles, a little heavy on easy drinking easy appealing beers. The beers are average brew pub quality. The server was not very knowledgeable about their brewing process or other area beer haunts. Offered us decent selections of their beers. A place to get your DC tick but this is totally touristy and you can tell in both the location, atmosphere and beer selection.

A cool little place inside of an old post office or something. Really quite neat, and the bar surrounds some of their tanks, etc.

My bartender was prompt and moderately knowledgeable... couldn’t complain.

Selection is their beers... I think I had 8 or 9. Didn’t ask what else was available. A pretty decent amount of brews.

The food was fine. I had a burger and it was good, but not great.

A bit expensive, especially the food.

Overall, hit it up for sure if you’re in the area. Decent food, decent brews, and a DC tick!

One of my goto restaurant/brews when I lived in DC. We had LOTS of happy hours, birthday gatherings, etc here. So long as we don’t mess up and get in when there is some game or another drawing an unexpected crowd, this is just a great place to go.

A large restaurant and brewery housed very near the Capitol. The place is rather open and tanks of beer divide the bar in half. I enjoyed the 8 house beers and soup du jour, a black bean vegetable soup. The service was a bit lacking for as slow as the place was at midday on a Sunday.

Happy hour pricing was great. $3.50 pints and $5 appetizers. Nothing amazing about the beer, but much better than macrobrew and much cheaper than anybody else in town for decent beer. My food was great. Pretzels with jalepeno cheese dip. I’ll be going back while I’m here.
