Certainly a world class beer bar. Odd place, looks like a old loft filled with fake decorations almost, something of a Arabian Nights theme. Excellent service. A lot of great drafts and a superb bottle list. The negative: damn expensive. Many bottles are 50$ or more. Overall, this is a great place. I’d go back a ton if I was local.

Great spot right in the heart of dc. Got here at 4 on a Friday and sat at the bar for at least 3 hours enjoying 4 oz pours of many different, amazing beers. The food was excellent and when they mixed up our food order, we not only got to keep the extra food but they also gave us free beer for the inconvenience. The ships hit peppers, chicken wings and pepperoni flat bread were all top notch. Staff was extremely knowledgable. The tap and bottle list was extensive and well curated but slightly pricy. Beer on the lists is organized according to flavor profile which was a little disorienting at first but ended up being something I really enjoyed. Modern, hipsterish vibe with large, comfortable seats at the bar. The 4 oz tasters were served in snifters. Really pleasant and laid back and made it so I was very comfortable while needing out over the selection. Definitely a must stop location. One of the best beer bars I ever been to. I drove 2 hours each way to get here (had a sober driver on the way back) and it was totally worth it. Highly Recommended .

Stopped by here late on a Thursday night. I got lucky with parking, found a spot on the street very close by. Walk up the stairs, and then wow... the area is amazing. I felt like I was dreaming, this is what it’s like when I dream of going to a magical beer bar. Kegs and exotic bottles of beer everywhere. I sit down at the bar, the barstools are like pilot seats, with backrests and armrests. The bartender was one of the friendliest most helpful knowledgeable guys I’ve ever interacted with. The tap list was amazing, I had to stare at it for 10 minutes before getting my first sample. And the "4oz tasters" are actually snifters filled closer the 6oz mark. Such an amazing place. Delivers on the hype.

Visited on a business trip. Location in the heart of DC. The place is not your typical local bar feel but more a restaurant with a bar that has coolers full of beer. The tap list and beer list are one of the most extensive in the world. They necessarily claim to have special "vintage" beers as much as just having a large variety of good beers from around the world. The service was quick and good throughout our dinner. The food was quite good and worth a visit just for dinner. The prices were reasonable and affordable for the majority. Overall a place to visit on the East coast and especially if you want to find that one off beer from Croatia, they just might have it. Recommended visit if in the DC area.

A very nice beer bar. Phenomenal selection on tap and in bottles with some real difficult to find beers. Very pricey, though.

I FINALLY stopped by here. Yes, shameful I know. Checked in near opening with solidfunk and Travlr and had a great time with those gentlemen. Upstairs, dark, long bar, tables. Comfortable vibe with some medieval / gothic flair. Street parking could be a pain but I got lucky. I did not eat, but the menu looks good and reasonably priced. The food looked good and the place smelled of charcuterie, which was nice. Extensive bottle list is almost too much to take in. Lots of rarities and while the prices are steep they aren’t unreasonable. Great draft list as well including several draft options. I dealt with several staff members and ALL of them exhibited good beer knowledge and concern for beer quality without coming off as pretentious. They all were friendly and down to earth. World class place.

Visited 14-MAY-2014, for just an hour. Could have stayed for days, though. Ordere a flight of 4 oz drafts and was offered a free pour of a fantastic Founders Nemesis 2009. Thx. Ordered two more great beers and were of again. Placed on 14th street there is no excuse for not going if you are in town. I will return if I have the possibility:-)
