A solid place to just grab some drinks, they have mostly non-rarer craft beers, occasionally have something like Founders Breakfast Stout, but place is noisy and fratish, especially downstairs. Not a bad stop but not a necessary one in DC.

Head downstairs, if you can, that’s the best bit - much more bar space, and an overflow bar that opens when it’s busy. Same tap and bottle list upstairs and down, plus you get to watch or play shuffleboard. Beer is average with a couple of surprises. Prices are good.

This bar is very underrated. The tap list if more than decent and gets Firestone Walker beers on tap as well as whatever the DC distributors are bringing into Paradiso and Big Hunt, et al. The prices here are pretty cheap comparatively and Happy Hour is a pretty good deal. BMC crap is $5 a pint, but something like Founders Breakfast Stout is $6 a snifter. No brainer to me. Downstairs is some insane skee ball and pool madness playground with another small bar with a syndicated tap selection. Very fun place and definitely worth checking out. Overall, a better place to have beer in the Chinatown area than RFD as their tap are clean and their beer poured properly. But RFD gets random oddball crap sometimes so you have to bite the bullet and sometimes go there. Iron Horse, though, I’d happily go to any day of the week.

A nice happy hour spot in the Chinatown area. They have a solid tap list and it’s $2 off at happy hour. They allow you to bring your own food in, which is nice. Shuffleboard and skeeball. Definitely worth checking out if you are in that area and don’t feel like tackling the monster that is the RFD bottle list.

A new, trendy sports bar down in the Gallery Place area. For those familiar with DC bars, it’s very similar to Rocket BAr just a couple of blocks north. A smalll-decent sized ground-floor level with a bar that was pretty empty (happy hour crowd is about it upstairs) and a BIG downstairs with shuffleboard, skeeball, video games, etc. Sounds more like a ’fun’ bar than a beet bar, but there are 20 taps that include VA’s Star Hill, Goose Island, Great Lakes, Dogfish, Victory, etc. I’d recommend this place if you want an alternative to RFD around the Verizon Center or if your friends don’t want to do a ’beer’ bar.
