| Travlr (637), Washington, Washington DC | | December 3, 2011 This place was a pleasant surprise in an otherwise pretty unremarkable area, easy walking distance from the much more touristy Chinatown. The owner is apparently an enthusiastic stocker of local beers, and the staff shared his enthusiasm. They had the whole bottle range of Port City stuff when I stopped in. Imports were limited. Most beers were in sixes, but there was a shelf of 750s and bombers as well. Overall selection was small but well chosen. A bit pricey. Worth a quick look if you’re in the area. | | mreeves (36), Sammamish, Washington | | June 20, 2008 A bit of a shady-looking operation. Bars on the windows, some sketchy folks hanging around. However, a decent selection of beers. Some odd pricing, however. Arrogand Bastard 22 oz for $4.99, but Avery Maharaja 22 oz for $15.49! Still, if you’re in the neighborhood, you could do worse. | | jde123 (63), Washington, Washington DC | | May 29, 2006 Stopped by this place on the walk back from Chinatown to see a movie. While walking past the convention center, I noticed there was a Dogfish Head sign in the window, so I decided to stop in. I didn’t expect much, but was pleasantly surprised by the selection they did have. I noticed said Dogfish Head selections, some Stone, Brooklyn, Hoegaarden, Allagash, Boddingtons, PIlsener Urquell, and the ever-present Chimay, Redhook, and Huygens. Not bad, definately worth a peek if in the area. Great Prices! |
