84 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 jackl (206) London, England | August 11, 2012 Harvest is a great bottle shop located not far from West Hartford center. There were something like 300-350 bottles available when I visited. The store includes a cold walk-in fridge, a nice feature. The selection was pretty strong, and included some cool local sours and plenty of random rarities. Prices were fine, though not exceptionally cheap. The service was great, very friendly. The guy behind the counter was very quick to offer guidance as soon as he sussed out I wasn’t local. Overall, recommended. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 beerfest5 (60) Simsbury, Connecticut | May 7, 2012 Yup, this guy gets it. Went in this place at 10am, the owner is behind the desk and talked beer with me for a good twenty minutes before even asking what I was looking for. If I opened a beer store in CT, this is what it would be like. | 94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 19/20 Keithyim (5) , | January 3, 2012| Updated February 16, 2012 Really nice boutique store. Beer selection is above and beyond what you see at other CT package stores (which IMO are poor overall).
They always seem to have a lot of fun seasonal six packs, locals and bombers, and the staff is good on recommendations. The times I’ve asked for help I’ve gone home very happy.
My pet peeve is that there are a lot of beers that aren’t marked with a price. I feel cheap asking the staff what something costs. That’s a nitpick, so take it for what it’s worth.
Addendum: They have a couple shelves of interesting imports and always have the ’newest’ craft bombers, so I’m bumping my overall up to 19. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 jkwood04 (43) Connecticut | September 13, 2010| Updated February 16, 2012 A really cool little store with a great selection for the state of CT. Great, knowledgeable service. |
