5 reviews for The Corner Store (Bait and Tackle)
| DeadGirl (39), West Palm Beach, Florida | | October 11, 2009 Without consulting RateBeer on quality beer stores (or my GPS) I would never have found this place. It’s a run-down bait/tackle shop and convenience store, but the funny thing is that it’s also a secret oasis for beer enthusiats. My first trip there I stocked up on Shipyard, Dogfish Head, Clipper City, and my favorite, Unibroue. I’ve been looking for Unibroue’s "La Terrible" for a while, and I never thought I’d find it in what’s also considered a gas station. Staff members are great and very helpful too! #6 on 11102009 DG. | | luttonm (11), Belgrade, Serbia | | December 19, 2008 Was really happy to find this while I was in town. Very interesting shop with a great, strange vibe (great beer in a run-down tackle shop in the middle of a rich city?). Talked with one of the folks who worked there who was very enthusiastic and pretty helpful. Great selection with rarities (all of the DFH and others). One downside was they sold me a ridiculously out of date (11/05) single. | | pumpmaster (22), Pembroke Pines, Florida | | January 16, 2008 [ Updated May 6, 2009 ] Very friendly people willing to order special requests. All singles from around the world with many American craft beers. | | redlight (50), Winter Park, Florida | | September 2, 2007 Ah a flood of memories washes over me as i walk in. I was only about 21-22 and was just discovering beer. This was where i 1st went to try new and "unusual" beers. Its a gas station, convience store, bait and tackle, it reminds me of something you’d see in the keys. They give discounts for mixed six packs, good selection of belgian and micro 750s. and tons of pale lagers from all over, russia, spain, greece, s. america, and some florida beers i’ve never seen (Yes I mainly). Very friendly service. | | hopscotch (152), Vero Beach, Florida | | March 23, 2007 Hey, it’s a gas station, so most rating factors get thrown right out the window. A rough and tumble neighborhood in West Palm Beach. It’s no East St. Louis or South Bronx, but I’ve seen nicer ’hoods. Limited parking. Convenience store food available... gasoline too. However, once inside, one could peruse the beer selection for an hour or more. Reminds me of the retired Happy Deli in NYC. Everything is available in singles. Terrific discounts on create-your-own six packs! Tons of American craft beers and Eastern European - Asian - Mexican - Czech - British - Caribbean - Israeli - etc. lagers and ales. Also, Laura and Richie are good people and will help you out whenever they can. An unexpected gem in southern Florida. |
