| wilnatp (14), | | April 25, 2012 The "all you can eat" Fish and Chips is amazing. The two pieces of cod are big enought to feed two. Taps are okay but the 5 rotating taps are good. | | Rogueone (21), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio | | April 21, 2008 This is my favorite Old Bag location. Solid bottle selection, and good drafts with an occasional surprisingly great one every once in awhile. Two words: fried pickles. | | Dogbrick (423), Columbus, Ohio | | January 8, 2008 (Visited 08/2006): Having an Old Bag of Nails open up in downtown Westerville is a coup for beer drinkers. Westerville, formerly home of the Anti-Saloon League, had been dry for over 100 years and was known as dry capital of the world.
Parking is pretty tough no matter what time you visit. There is street parking all around and a couple small lots but they fill up fast.
The interior is similar to other locations. The left side is restaurant seating, while the right is the bar. There is breweriana all around, as well as an eclectic selection of knicknacks. The bar is all along the right side and has a nice view of the street.
The beer selection is good. There are around 10 taps with goodies like Hoster Gold Top and a Leinenkugel beer renamed to Old Bag of Ale. As for bottles, there is a good representation of domestic and imported. Great Lakes, Sierra Nevada, Young’s, Sam Smiths etc.
Service is good as usual. Old Bag hires people that know beer.
The food is excellent. I had the Patty Melt and it was great, andthe fish and chips is world class as it is at every other location.
As mentioned before, Westerville is better for having this place open now. Beer drinkers in the area rejoice! |
