Our friends go to the Westmont Tap House Grill; through most of the year if not some times twice a week. We like the beer dinner parings, and the circulating choices of what’s on tap each week. Good food with a savy beer smart staff, who can help newcomers learn about expanding their horizons. As for the staff; for the most part has stayed the same since they opened a few years ago. Management has their keen sense of what’s hot in the craft beer pulse. Come in and visit as often as we do. Parking can get tricky on big nights but there is a sizable outside area that you can sit in the warm months.

For whatever reason, I am not sure why, but this place always smells. There are a lot of selections, but it just feels like they dont care about what they are selling. Some bartenders care more about texting their friends on the phone or reading the paper while they work then talking to the patrons.

Awesome spot for a beer dinner, i have been to a couple with some of my friends and we always have a great time. I have been there other times and its nothing to write home about. Decent beer selection, looking for some more rare beers that i cant find everywhere these days. But they do have some good ones, flatbreads are good. I go here twice a month for sure.

Great spot - was here on Dec. 27, 2011 with the Folty family. I see he called out my gaf with the DFH discussion - what he didn’t elaborate on was that I was pretty distracted on this night :) Nice selection of all kinds of good stuff, great service, good atmosphere - just overall an extremely solid spot.

Wound up here for a trade with FullObs and it was a nice surprise. Lots of specials going on, trivia night, DFH will be taking over the taps soon, fireplace with couches, etc. so the ambiance was great. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about beer and kept trying to get us to stump her with beer questions. She was excited about DFH so I asked her what is her favorite expecting to hear oh I like them all or 60 minute, but no she busts out one I never heard of! Then she tells us about a beer trip she wants to take to their brewery. My friend Brian, who will remain nameless, busts out oh in Maryland right....um dude just got one strike towards losing his craft beer man card hahaha. Anyway, selection was nice for a dude from MN. Port Santa’s Little Helper 12 oz. for $6, heck yeah. FFF, New Holland, GI, and Lost Abbey stuff as well. Only downside was no flights, but waitress was willing to give as many tasters as we wanted, damn I should have given her more than 20% for the tip.

I like the Tap House. I’ve been there about 10 times or so now and will continue to go back. For their beer menu, they print the name of the beer, the brewing company, and the ABV on a list that typically takes 2 sheets of paper to fit all their beers on so you know what you’re getting. The staff is friendly and more than happy to pour you a taster to help you decide. They house about 30 beers on tap and have a decent selection of bottled and canned brews as well. They seem to always have something on special so if you’re on a budget - you can still walk in there and get a decent beer at a decent price. They have a lounge area in front of a fireplace furnished with couches that can seat a party of seven or so, perfect for going out with friends in the winter. And in the summer, they have a nice outdoor patio to enjoy. The bar area has TVs so you can watch the game and enjoy the beer at the same time. Food-wise they are a bit fancy for me. I have had a jerk sandwich there that was pretty good, but I go there for the beer. All in all, pretty solid place to go and enjoy a couple.

Wound up here the evening after the Sam Adams comp. Huge beer garden in back that has plenty of room. Pretty solid selections of beer, running the gamut from three floyds to New Belgium Lips of Faith offering. Didn’t eat when I was here, but was pleasantly surprised by the beer selection and quality. Solid.

Agree mostly with my fellow reviewer. The have a good quantity of drafts, but pretty basic stuff. The place is a cross between a lounge, decent bar and plasma TV viewing area, and family restaurant, not doing any of those particularly well. The food menu is pretty extensive, but they get a little to fancy for my likings, like barbecue pizza flatbread type stuff. They do offer brewer dinners frequently - haven’t had the chance to amke one, maybe those are their Matt Forte. With few decent beer bars in the area, the place is usually packed on the weekends though. If you’re not too choosy on your beers maybe I’m being too hard on this place.

One of a four location chain in the western suburbs, this is the only location I have visited. Hostess greets you when you walk in. Large U shaped bar in the center of the room which is decorated in the style of an upscale lounge or restaurant. Plasma screens scattered above the bar showing sports. About 40 beers on tap, but only a few standouts and too many concessions to make the list really outstanding. Food menu offers a mix of pub grub and contemporary american. Doesn’t really seem like the type of place you’d go just to drink a couple of beers.
