Visited a few years ago after a trip to Bruges. Large canteen-like place, looks a bit sterile, not really a bar-feel to it. All 3 beers were available, with the Blond for takeaway. Had some cheese, 8 & 12. Nice to have been there, but not really memorable considering ambiance.

All in all the place can be called a bit unpersonal, especially compared to the top location it finds itself. Service is very standard and beer choice is, well... Westvleteren. However.... the food is simple but great. DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT HAVING TASTED THE WVL 12 ICE CREAM! That’s very close to heaven

Big open room busy with tourists. All three beers were available. Very nice pâté. Good value on the beers. Blond - €3.70, 8 - €4.20, 12 - €4.70

Went there when getting some westvleteren crates. Large pub woth all the beers on tap. Nice food, the cheese is lovely.

A rather soulless and sterile cafe and bar, but the real attractions are the 3 Westvleteren beers sold at very reasonable prices. It’s occasionally possible to buy beers to take away, but this can vary.

Hard to find place. Huge bar where the 3 westvleteren ales are served on tap. Small tourist shop where years ago was not possible to get some bottles (unless you suck up to the staff...). Now they sell a 6-pack.

The only place where you can drink the Westvleteren ! A great place with only 3 botttle beers : Westlvleteren 6, 8 and 12. You can eat a snack and as dessert you can have a westvleteren beer ice from In de Vrede.

Not the most cosy of places, rather big and impersonal feeling, but still a nice place to be at, and to drink a few good beers, maybe accompanied with some abbey cheese.

Yes, like the Munich Octoberfest, everybody who likes beer should go at least once in their life. Monday 11th December 2006 was my visit to this Holy Grail. A wet, overcast, grotty day. When you go, have a good map or a GPS system, because it is hard to find. My party of 4 doubled the visitors numbers, although a busload of CAMRA/Beerlovers from Suffolk arrived as we were leaving. Service is hard to score with so few in, but the lady was all smiles and didn’t hide when the bus of Brits arrived! The shop area is on your left as you enter through the main enterance, the bar just past it. The actual room is huge, couldn’t guess how many it could hold, 500 maybe? The beers of course were all fine, what did you expect me to say? All in all, very glad I made the effort to go, would I go again? Yes, but only if someone else was driving!

The place itself is not my type, but i knew why I was there : to drink Westvleteren ... Service is decent, proper glassware of course. Food is made of snacks ( expensive ones ) and not that good, but then again ... westvleteren available there all year long...
