| UDBeernut (53), Saugerties, New York | | April 28, 2012 Went here a few times. Food is good, service is ok. The beer is usually underwhelming. Usually a wierd and overly festive crowd weekend nights. Worth a try, but you’ll have a better time at Ballentine or 1899. | | jmikolich (45), Brunswick, Ohio | | February 14, 2012 Decided to head to WBC on a Friday evening, tried to call ahead to make reservations got told they couldnt accomodate our party (7ppl) went on OpenTable and reserved a table for 5, got a table which sat 7 comfortably, they have 8 taps of their beer, and offer 2 sampler options an 8 sample one and a 4 sample one, able to customize your sampler too, food is good but pricey, they pride themselves on pizza too.. limited selction there. Place is always busy and parking can be difficult if you don’t know the area.. Valet is available though. I prefer to park in public parking and walk. Willoughby is a cool spot with lots of beer oriented bars to fill an evening with. | | miketd (112), Cleveland, Ohio | | September 15, 2011 This brewery has recently changed brewers and the quality has gone up a lot. All the beer is solid to great and they usually have 6-8 of their brews on tap. The service is good and friendly and there is plenty of room. Good food for a brewery. The only thing I see that is a bit of a drag is that the beer list doesn’t change much. The only thing I had different the last several times there was the Barley Wine, the other stuff has been there every time. | | bittermestupid (13), Canton, Ohio | | September 6, 2011 The food and ambiance are pretty good. The PB Coffee Porter made it worth the trip. I would like to go back and spend more time there. | | stranglehold (10), Ohio | | August 5, 2011 Willoughby | | Foxbush (29), Richmond, Virginia | | May 11, 2011 [ Updated May 12, 2011 ] This was an impressive place. We arrived on Saturday from Erie. The parking lot was empty and they opened at 11 AM. Megan was our waitress, and she was super. The brewery is located behind the stores with ample parking. There is small locomotive pulling a train around the ceiling. I was able to taste four beers. | | beergodd1 (11), Conneaut, Ohio | | March 27, 2010 I live about 45 min. away from here...too bad, because It’s beautiful inside, and the home brew is good too. Food is pricey, but selection decent. The Imperial Stout was Excellent. Wish I had a growler with me. There are several Breweries within 60 min from my house, from Cleveland in Ohio, to Erie in PA. this is top 3 IMO. | KenStage (7), Ohio does not count - explanation | | July 5, 2009 [ Updated December 5, 2010 ] Somewhat biased as this is my neighborhhood brewpub.
I am partial to the Lost Nation Pale Ale - always just the right bitterness (60 IBU’s). Last Stop Stout also very good. Railway Razz is an award winner, but too fruity for me. Hopnotic IPA is very hoppy, with strong citrus notes - I you are not a real hop lover, this might be over the top (75 IBUs)
Eat at the bar during happy hour for an inexpensive good meal - we can bring the 2 kids and get out for under $25. Get in early, it gets crowded.
Hard to find, hard to park - go across the street or on Erie Street to park without the valet. If you are an member of the American Homebrewers Accociation bring your membership card and get happy hour price pints any time. | | Rastacouere (581), Montréal, Quebec | | September 24, 2008 Beautiful remote building that used to be involved in train mechanics, so it’s the theme around here. Large and airy, welcoming place, beautiful bricks and very large windows allowing you to see the brewery. Experimental and interesting recipes, the proximity to Cleveland and the general quality of the beers make this a totally worthy stop. Service was quick and apparently rather knowledgeable. The food was not worth a detour on its own, but perhaps a notch above average for a brewpub. I felt comfortable in there. | | f351c4v (77), Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania | | September 19, 2008 WBC can be found off of Erie Street, on an alley that can be tricky to find if you ’re from out of town. Nice restaurant/brewery feel, large bar and open dining area. Usually around 6-8 beers on tap, we sampled the Belgian IPA, which was excellent. Food was great, sampled the bruchetta and milano pizzas, very good. Worth the journey. |
