10 reviews for Binny’s Beverage Depot (Willowbrook)
| HonkeyBra (10), Lemont, Illinois | | January 18, 2009 This Binny’s is pretty good. Not the best in the area, and it’s the closest to me. I go to the one in Glen Ellyn. However, they have a giant beer section which has improved with the new beer guy they brought it. They also have a great Jolly Pumpkin selection. It’s in cook county, so you get hit with the extra tax. The beer guy here is great, though. | TheMurphys (4), Willowbrook, Illinois does not count - explanation | | December 8, 2008 I am lucky this place is close to my home the only draw back is it closes early they have a great selection and the staff is friendly and knowledgable | | hombrepalo (44), Chicago, Illinois | | November 16, 2007 Nice selection here, kinda small place compared to the other binnys. | | Kodos (10), | | September 20, 2007 Good selection. Too bad this place is only open until 9pm. | | DrnkMcDermott (73), Downers Grove, Illinois | | January 25, 2006 At this writing, the store has been bought out by Binny’s, while Carlo DiCarlo (yes, his real name) retires. Too soon to know how this will affect selection; ideally, DiCarlo’s distribution deals can continue and be added to Binny’s. Anyway, a relaxed atmosphere for a store. Main focus is on wine, with a section set off by wooden shingles in the ceiling, but a fine roundup of local and worldwide beers. Good collection of Rogues and DFH. | | kseecs16 (139), Naperville, Illinois | | December 20, 2005 [ Updated March 9, 2009 ] A big store with a nice selection tons of wine and liquor, and a good selection of good beer, though not organized particularly well. Not as good as Sam’s in Downers but you can find some good rare beers here. Was in on 02/15/06 and they were shifting the beer around, it appears that it will get less shelf space then previously. Selection had not changed much though, and there was more Three Floyds beers than I recall in the past.
Update 03/09 - Obviously this is a Binny’s now with all the associated pro’s and con’s. Better service, better ambiance, a bit mroe pricy than before. | | NobleSquirrel (55), Chicago, Illinois | | August 19, 2005 Please notice that this is NOT the Armanetti’s of mythology. Rather, this is the equivalent of a Binny’s, not bad, but not great. Again, don’t go too far out of your way to hit up this place. | | SubstanceT (114), Saint Louis, Missouri | | August 12, 2005 [ Updated May 21, 2006 ] Rating AFTER Binnys takeover
This place has gone to okay to poor. Lots of stuff that is just not interesting. | | frankenkitty (94), Oak Lawn, Illinois | | April 7, 2005 I was pleased to be greeted by the 10 foot high yellow letters that spelled "LIQUOR" on the side of the building. Their selection was quite diverse... you’d browse one side of the aisle finding singles and sixes from Belgium, Germany, Czech, Poland, U.K... then turn around and see a diverse selection of Canadian and American offerings, including nearly complete lines from Rogue, Dogfish Head, Flying Dog, Bell’s, etc. I’d say the selection was over 200. Prices were average or higher... and there were very few "specials". My only real complaint lies with their cooler selection... not much beyond macros and "staple" imports like Guinness, Corona, Beck’s. | | Cornfield (140), Oak Forest, Illinois | | September 29, 2004 Heading home from a bad job interview, I spotted this place and decided to stop in to find ’something’ for the ’fridge. I walked into a large, clean liquor store. Walking towards the back (on the left, as you enter), my eyes began to widen. Two LONG aisles stacked with imports and micros from all the hell over the place. I looked into my wallet, counted my bucks, then jogged back to the front for a shopping cart. This is an amazing place to buy freshly bottled brews of ALL types from ALL over. No exaggeration. I can’t stop here without throwing myself into debt... but it’s worth it. |
