If you’re on your way from Athens to Atlanta, or vice versa, and want something convenient with a good selection, this is your place. It is a liquor store with a good beer selection, but I have never seen the growler shop open, which has to be through a different door due to county laws. Definitely some sleepers sitting on shelves that will sell out other places, so worth a stop.

Good shop, in a small shopping center between Athens and Atlanta. A good selection of the more commonly available US micros (as well as some varieties not often seen in GA). Limited selection of Belgian, British, and German stuff. Because of their fairly rural location, they are not overrun by beer geeks and it may be possible to get some beers that sell out quickly in the cities. For example, I’ve twice bought Bell’s Hopslam there, when it was nowhere to be found in Athens. Good service and friendly staff. The guy remembered me, even though I hadn’t been there for six months. Not really the cheapest place. But worth a stop if you are driving on Hwy 316

This place is the best liqour store around. It’s the only place in a 30 mile radius with a microbrew section. The staff is always super friendly and helpful, and always makes good suggestions. If I’m buying booze, I’ll drive out of my way to go to turtle creek so I can support these guys.
