There was a decent selection to be had with about half of it in coolers. The prices were ok and I also saw some Crooked Tree and Lucky Bucket. A decent place, but pales compared to the nicer Hy Vee locations. Ok for the DM area, but I don’t think their stock rotates very quickly.

Hmmmm, I think it is time for a freshness check on this joint. First off they’ve moved to 7690 Hickman Rd Windsor Heights, IA 50322 This place has almost always been a go to for interesting beer in Des Moines. Like most places that carry interesting beer round here, sometimes they have absolutley nothing. Like last time I was there, the beer shelf was spotty at best. Never the less, sometimes this place is stocked with awesome beer, I know when the state sold Rochefort 10 about a year ago they bought something like 20 cases so that they would be able to carry it year round. I know these cats bend over backwards, and their staff is more than freindly, but it’s still pretty patchy at times.

This store has a wonderful selection of rare beers from around the world. The staff is very helpful. One of the owners (Tom) even helped me track down some beer that they did not have in stock. The store is very neat and clean, with a wide selection of beers from all over the world. The best part about this store is the selection of higher alcohol content beers (greater than 6%), which are classified as liquor in the state of Iowa, and are very hard to come by. The store also carries a lot of wine and liquor products, but I haven’t really explored them. I highly recommend this store to anyone in Central Iowa, and I will be going back on a regular basis for some more beer to review on this site.
