Ok, so Whole Foods is a grocery store, yes... but they have a stupid good beer selection. It may not be the hippest thing on the planet to buy your beer at the grocery store. I can concede that... but no joke, anyone who carries Kelpie, Acme, Delirium, Belhaven, Blackthorn Cider, Hitachino Red Rice, and multiple types of sorghum Beer (for gluten-sensitive beer lovers, amongst whom I count myself, oh the pain)... is impressive just as a beer store. Plus, you can pair your beer up with the right cheese, olives, crackers, whatever else all day long. It’s a grocery store. Ah ha! Oh, and usually they have a few people that know their way around suds, so find someone wandering the wine aisle and ask a question if you have one. You’ll probably be pleasantly surprised. Prices won’t knock your socks off (or maybe they will, but not a good way), but sometimes they have a good value or two. Winter Park location has a much smaller selection than the Orlando store, but still pretty deep.

Typical whole Foods, although with a slightly better-than-typical Whole Foods beer selection. I found a couple of Cigar Series Humidor Series here that I didn’t find elsewhere. Can’t remember that guy’s name, but whoever was stocking the cooler knew his shit and was very helpful. As usual, whole Foods tend to price their beers a little higher.

They used to have a super cool guy that ordered their craft beer and he has been gone for awhile. I’d say they have maybe half the selection they used to and while there are some decent crafts, there are much better places in town. Prices are high, as well. This Whole Foods in general is the smallest I have ever seen and the place is crowded at all times of day. Great food, organic, vegetarian, and produce.

I was surprised to see all of this beer at Whole Foods, and this one has the best selection of many WF’s I have seen. They have a great selection of English and organic beers and lots of DFH and rare seasonals. It’s pretty good, stop by on the way to Mellow or Redlight Redlight, the prices are not wonderful, but if you find something rare, why not?

I would have never thought to check here if it weren’t for other online reviews. And even then I wasn’t in a rush. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection and quality, which I’d say is better than average (just to name a few: Rogue, Dogfish, HeBrew, Hardys, St. Bernardus, Orval) with some others I’ve never seen before. Isn’t as good as Big C, which is very close by or Knightly Spirits but this place is good for what it is. Also a very nice selection of wine and cheese in the back corner where the beer is along with the obvious organic foods. Parking is a little hectic and the place always seems to be pretty crowded but give it a look if you’re in the area.

I was pretty impressed by the selection here. I like Whole Foods anyway, but its a bonus when you can pick up new ratnigs alongside the groceries. Not a huge selection - in fact Big C and Knightlys both beat it, but if you’re passing by on your way to Redlight or Mellow Mushroom (right next door), its definitely worth a stop to see if they’ve got something you’re looking for. They did for me. Also some really good cheese in stock, plus all the other organic health food goodies they’re known for.

For such a small grocery, the beer selection is impressive (same goes for wine and cheese, but I’ll leave that out of the rating). Probably about 100 different brews available, mostly in six-pack format, but some singles as well. Many of the standard micros are available (Sierra Nevada, Unibroue, Rogue, Dogfish Head, Great Divide, North Coast, etc.) Also found a decent Belgian selection (St. Bernanrdus, Orval, Delerium, Chimay, etc.). Its about a 40/60 split between chilled and non-chilled. You can find some gems on occassion.

They have a nice selection of micros and imports in a corner in the back of the store. They don’t have much room but do a pretty good job of keeping quality stuff. I’ve seen some specials here that are nice (120 minute for 7.99, cheapest I’ve seen it) and the regular prices are reasonable. They don’t have anything really rare that other stores don’t have but you’ll definitely be able to find something good here.
