| luttonm (47), Belgrade, Serbia | | March 3, 2012 Really a pleasant little store, the owner/operator is helpful and cheery. Great spot to find some tasty foreign beers (German and Belgian, namely) and a good mix of harder to find locals. The shelves were much emptier than normal on March 1, it was explained to me, because the distributor was waiting for spring and summer before stocking up. Beware of this, I guess, but really a must visit | | ogivlado (242), Zagreb, Croatia | | November 17, 2011 Few minutes by foot from Pivnica Zlatni Medo. Looks nice inside, some 150+ beers from which most can be consumed on site. Various tasting, promotion and other beer events are almost regular here, friendly owner and pleasant atmosphere. If you’re in Zagreb, come here, you won’t regret. | | Marko (169), Split, Croatia | | February 12, 2011 Zagreb has just experienced the opening of two beer stores in the space of a couple of months, which is pretty cool. This one has opened a couple minutes’ walk from the Zlatni Medo brewpub (and thus maybe a couple of minutes more from my place), which is brilliant. The "grand opening" was yesterday, but they won’t be selling beer for another week or so. In any case, one can easily see how everything will function so I’m rating it now. It’s a relatively small (bigger than some shops I’ve been in) room with shelves on three sides, the assortment is dominated by Beershop-imported beers (Czech, Belgian, English beers), and is thus great for Croatia, but there are most bottled Croatian beers as well, and this will be the only shop I know of where one can buy Kasačko (available only in bars otherwise). I was kinda hoping for something new for Croatia when it comes to the selection, as expected in vain, but that’s pretty much nitpicking. The prices seem to be ok, not too high, not too low. A place I might be visiting (relatively) often, and a good way for a traveller to eliminate some of the bar-hopping while hunting for Croatian beer. |
