| rustychiles (10), Mesa, Arizona | | July 8, 2009 Nice cozy bar in a rennovated historical looking brick building.
Their food is above average, and their in house beers are top notch.
But what really stands out is what they have on cask or as a seasonal.
Their Triple IPA is among the best i’ve ever had. | | ¾ (599), Colorado | | January 17, 2009 Reminds me of a Hobbit den in LOTR. Low ceiling inside, brick walls, wood paneling, etc. 6-7 beers on tap, two seasonals plus special cask offering. Skipped the food, looked to be regular pub grub. Nothing special, just another brewpub. | JonMoore (8), Loughborough, England does not count - explanation | | December 25, 2008 Very nice brewpub. The Trooper IPA was very good as were their own cask beers and the range of beers was impressive. Attentive and knowledgeable staff. | | footy (11), scottsdale, Arizona | | December 19, 2008 By far my favorite brewhouse in the Valley. Uwe brews the most consistant and balanced beers in the valley. I especially love his Triple Ipa and Barleywine when available. The staff is by far the most courteous in the Valley. The food is good. Overall a great place and especially a great visit when Uwe has one of his specials on tap. | | nbutler11 (71), Phoenix, Arizona | | August 12, 2008 A little too well lit for my taste in a bar, but very comfortable with an attentive staff. Their six taps and cask are well-worth the visit as well as their food. | | ajm (161), Los Angeles, California | | August 6, 2008 [ Updated October 24, 2008 ] Worth stopping if you’re in the downtown/north Phoenix area (and even if you aren’t). The layout, size and ambiance struck me as very European in their coziness and woodiness. If the wood wasn’t so lacquered, this would be a place to settle in and get some serious drinking done. The beers are all brewed in the back but I give it a higher than normal selection rate as their spectrum is full. Any our-stuff-only place that has a cream, a pale, a Hef, a porter and a wee heavy on tap at once is my kind of place. | | hellbilly (64), scottsdale über alles, Arizona | | August 14, 2007 good pub food. good service. great beer. | sonoragm (1), Phoenix, Arizona does not count - explanation | | June 22, 2007 Of course I am biased!!! I am the GM at Sonora Brewhouse & Brewer’s Den and wanted to clarify a few things as reading comments I see a lot of confusion. Sonora Brewhouse has always been separately and independently owned for our entire 6 years. We have never been owned by Sonoran Brewing Company. We used to have a working relationship with the owners of Sonora Brewing Company/Sonoran Brewing Company. In October of 2004 the previous owners of the Brewery sold. Sonoran Brewing Company was sold to a different entity entirely. We are not associated in any way with Sonoran Brewing Company. We got the original Brewmaster Uwe Boer - so in our minds we got the BEST part of the deal. We renovated our current location to fit our 7 tank system and have been up and brewing since 02.14.06. Our brewery is known as Brewer’s Den and we couldn’t be more excited about our latest venture in the Brewing World! One other small note our website should be www.sonorabrewhouse.com. Stop in and check us out! | TRMV (3), does not count - explanation | | February 15, 2007 OK first off the Brewhouse is not absorbing the Brewers Den. Brewers Den is the name of the new Brewhouse and addition added to the original pub. The name is officially Sonora/The Brewers Den. Not to be confused with Sonoran Brewing which was the original owner of the pub.
Sonoran has retained the names of the beers such as Burning Bird Pale Ale. So Sonora has created new names for it’s very good beers. Uwe is a great brewer and very friendly.
His beers are top notch, and his staff is knowledgeable and well versed on the beers. Food is very tasty but the Beer is the star here. | | bhensonb (287), Woodland, California | | February 11, 2007 The Brewhouse is absorbing Brewers Den. The beer names are changing. Sonoran / Brewers Den / Sonora - this database is confused. Check the web for more confusion. Feb 9 / Had the pale ale and the IPA on the beer engine. Quite excellent, and much more lush than the draft versions. Pretty fun place, if you like to try beers and eat great food. The fish and chips: a hugh, thick piece of white fish, with a thin elegant batter; came with kettle chips. Best fish I can remember; not like the standard thin and over crusted fare at most places. Servitor was very helpful and attentive. |
