12 reviews for Yard House (Phoenix)
| WITTBEER (21), Illinois | | October 7, 2009 One of the best beer selections I’ve ever seen. | | yemenmocha (61), Glendale, Arizona | | September 20, 2009 Mall location seems to attract the wrong crowd, and this location is especially annoying during important playoff games.
Yardhouse is an interesting dilemma for the RB enthusiast.
Beer selection is stunning.
Food is amazing.
But it’s extremely overpriced and sometimes the taps aren’t so fresh. Moreover, the atmosphere is rather yuppyish but at least they play hard rock nonstop, and only hard rock. Spacious room is good, not smoky at all, and even when packed you can still hold a civil conversation with your tablemates.
They started out with a nice beer day all day on Monday, which was essentially an all day happy hour (even on belgians!). Then they axed that.
Then it was every day before dinner AND every night after 10pm. I went here frequently for the 10pm happy hour. Then they axed that too, except for Thursday nights only from 10-11pm only. WTF? Only 1 hour one night a week? Are they serious?
Pizza is good, onion rings are great (not sure if $9 great though), and the homemade chips are a must-order item.
Hit the late night happy hour for the best bang for your buck, if you can squeeze in that one hour timeframe into your busy schedule!
(note: happy hours have changed again) | | hollypocket (10), Arizona | | July 1, 2009 a little crowded, but what do you expect from a place with soooooooo many beers on tap! Excellent Service. | | ajm (161), Los Angeles, California | | December 27, 2008 If you have to. But youre dealing with a mall scene, a very uppity yuppy scene and a chain scene all at once. Fewer taps than the YH in Scottsdale and half the space. | | bleeng (68), Spring near Beersel , Texas | | December 12, 2008 A ton of taps mostly uninspiring. Lots of macros semi micros, and a few decent micros. I cannot imagine how long the tap lines are. Did not try the food. Will not be back. | | hellbilly (64), scottsdale über alles, Arizona | | July 2, 2008 100 uninspiring taps in one giant restaurant factory... yuck. | | eaglefan538 (90), Wilmington, Delaware | | January 17, 2008 Well, what can you say about a place like this? Great beer selection, tons of drafts, the keg room an amazing site to behold. The beer was all fresh too, despite my worries that the lines were too long and that the beer wouldn’t taste very good. The food was pretty good. The big disappointment here was the service. Not only was it slow, but the staff was almost completely ignorant of what beer was. Not a clue. We had about 3 different servers work our table for the evening, but none of them knew squat, even the guy who pulled out his cheat sheet. I could go on, but I won’t. | LumpyMusic (1), does not count - explanation | | December 1, 2007 Way overrated. Beer is just barely cooler than room temp. Fifteen dollars for a plate of fish and chips that tastes like the same frozen fish and chips you’d get at Denny’s, Long John Silver’s or MacDonalds. Service was fine, as it should be anywhere. 9 people at our table sampled several of the appetizers and each had a beer. Cost roughly $35 per person. Way overpriced, food was way underquality, beer nearly unacceptable due to not being cold. | | smoosh (19), New Albany, Indiana | | September 12, 2007 A very cool place - you’ve got to see the chiller room! I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many kegs in one place. A bunch of beers, but not much variety other than the labels on the brews. Not much style-wise, really. A cool place, but I’d go elsewhere. | culver501 (6), Chandler, Arizona does not count - explanation | | August 5, 2007 100 beers but most are really common. Great atmosphere but a little pricey. Good place to take the family or someone that likes to say they’re into good beer. |
