72 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 14/20 ajm (191) Los Angeles, California | December 5, 2007| Updated August 14, 2008 It was there when you needed it. And man did I ever need it. Nobody could do a 21st birthday like Old Chi (not that we ever gave anyone else the chance). The beer was never that good and I usually had to order Snakebites just to stay interested, but if you were looking for a memory factory, this was the place. So long old friend. |
50 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 11/20 DYCSoccer17 (275) Woodland, California | May 2, 2006| Updated August 14, 2008 Ugh, I just spent 15 minutes typing up a report on this place, only to have the site crap out on me. So after having a few beers at Streets of NY, I rollerbladed to this location. Unfortunately, the sidewalk had a large fissure in it, which caught my blade and caused me to wipe out. As I entered the only entrance in the back of this place with the dirty crummy facade, I was thirsty and licking my wounds...literally. The motif is of Chicago professional sports teams. Pretty dark bar with a decent-sized seating area. There are 30 well-lit taps behind the bar, as well as coolers that are well-lit with bottles. The beers are all widely distributed macros/micros/imports that one can find just about anywhere. There were a few widely distributed west coast macros on tap. Service was good, bartender was nice and prompt, but he didn’t know too much about beer. Beer was served in a frosty glass! I ordered the turkey stromboli, which was very tasty. The cole slaw was flavorless, so I’d staw away from that. Overall, not really a place I’d go out of my way for. I certainly wouldn’t bust my ass rollerblading to it again :X |
