Nice beer garden, though a little out of the way. I really liked their beers. There was an amber lager that was nice and the weiss as well. Well worth visiting for a different taste from usual Austrian beers. | | pivnizub (216), Porúří, Germany | | August 10, 2008 Nice beer-garden, nice beers, not heavily influenced by Mozart... Even though it is located a bit off the beaten path, it is worth a detour......... | | Stew41 (67), Caulfield, Australia | | June 1, 2008 Sold to me by the very helpful front desk folk at Hotel Mozart (with some conviction) as quintissential Slazburg but my standards it was just another big noisy modern beer barn. Huge venue a combination of more traditional old style tavens in the front and a more open (and souless) hall out the back with beer garden. Very full on a Friday night w/ mostly younger types looking for love. 6 house brews on the menu but only 2 available at this time (EuR 2.8 for 300ml). Menu has good depth with traditional fare. I’d struggle to recommend in the absence of the house beers. | | larsga (101), Oslo, Norway | | May 21, 2008 The interior is a bit odd, but the beer garden was nice. Service was dodgy. Hard to get hold of, unfriendly, not very helpful. Food was decent. The beers were quite good, but not terribly exciting. After two weeks in Germany/Austria I got bored in here and didn’t bother trying all of them. | | Beershine (75), Miami Beach, Florida | | October 8, 2007 Known as the best weissen south of the border, Die Weisse does deliver. The hellas (light wheat beer) is superiour, with a grainy body and peppery character. The brown one is not as tasty to me, but both are very nice and I believe a notch above s’Guate, another Salzburg brewpub. Cheerful rooms conducive to conversation. | | Rastacouere (408), Montréal, Quebec | | July 26, 2007 Now that´s a must if you´re in Salzburg. A bit out of the Centre, but the interior with all its tame wooden furniture and the delicious terrace with all the greens, chatty and smiling locals just make you spend a nice time. Excellent service though they could lay down the electronic devices a bit. The only place where I got a pretzel in Austria, they looked so good. Also, their beer is pretty much the best in Salzburg, possibly my favourite weizen in the country. |
