| Travlr (41), Washington, Washington DC | | November 28, 2008 The bar is wonderful - great place to hang with the locals. Occasional of-menu choices. Lots of character. Good food. The rooms need serious help. Better than staying in Brussels, though. And you’re in the center of the lambic universe. | | downender (116), Bristol, England | | May 9, 2008 I stayed at the Hotel Centrum in April. My room was spartan, but clean and comfortable. The food was tasty and good value. The bar/restaurant was comfy, with friendly service and locals and a wide selection of beers. Very good. | | JoeinUccle (138), Brussels, Belgium | | January 30, 2008 Impressive list is loaded with quality, including plenty of lambics. Beers include Dupont, De Dolle, Blaugies, Ellezelloise and other goodness. Also tasty and reasonably priced classic Belgian dishes... Had a nice pork chop with stoemp for 10 euros. Quiet place, loaded with tacky breweriana. Big courtyard out back. This place is a good option if 3 Fonteinen is closed... better yet, hit them both. | | Goldorak (110), Montreal, Quebec | | September 22, 2007 Our room was spartan but clean and at a reasonable price, what more could you ask for? The bar/restaurant section up front was old fashioned, with church pew like seating, it had plenty of breweriana without being overly tacky. Patrons were mostly locals, both French and Flemish speaking. Interesting Beer list, lots of lambics, but they were out of almost everything I wanted to try. That they ran out of De Cam wasn’t a huge surprise for me, but 3 Fontainen is about 100 yards away from this place and Oud Beersel about half a mile further, how can you not have everything they currently have in stock? They still had a few great Beers, but nothing that really made me go wow, but at least satisfied my lambic craving. Service was typical, the owner was our waiter and was pretty relaxed. Centrum is a very "central" location in lambicland, a good base camp for those willing to explore the area. Be warned, the website reservation service doesn’t work, so call ahead if you want to book a room. | | mds (100), Toronto, Ontario | | May 17, 2006 Excellent selection here with plenty of draught and bottled lambics. Other general Belgians are represented also and the prices were below average for the most part. I didn’t try the food because I just finished eating at 3F but the menu looked very good. The patio was beautiful with trees and rocks between the tables. Only a 3 minute stumble from 3F. I’ll be back here one day. | | Lubiere (177), Ottawa, Ontario | | December 10, 2005 Good beer slection (over 100). Cosey but smokey bar, with clowns in corners ( a bit tacky). Nice tradtional Belgian cuisne (Stoemp, waterzoi). Older hotel rooms but clean and cheap. | | Diplomat (37), YPÄJÄ, Finland | | July 9, 2004 A must place to visit then at Beersel. Lots of lambic memories here. The owners take a good care of the lambic selection to be served for You. Excellent place with groups. Some hotel rooms need renovation... if You want to stay after all those nice lambics. |
