| SaintMatty (39), Tallinn, Estonia | | September 13, 2009 A great addition to the beer scene in Brugge. It’s a rather atmospheric (although a bit dark) cellar bar with a l good range of quality beers on tap and some decent bottled beers. The guy who served me seemed to be friendly and knowledgeable. I was rather impressed with this place. | | jfb (18), Weihenstephan, Germany | | September 11, 2009 This is one of the nicer bars in Bruges, with lots of room and a genuinely relaxing atmosphere. Service was a little unattentive but very friendly. The beerlist was extensive and quite good, with a few surprises, though nothing all too rare. Prices are a little lower than in most other pubs as well. | wimpie133 (5), Brugge, Belgium does not count - explanation | | April 13, 2009 You take the stairs down and enter a sort of medieval cave, with dark atmospheric lights and good, alternative music on the background, not too loud, not too silent. You have a rather large range of different types of beers on the card, either you want to taste fruit beers, gueze, trappist or just a beer of ’the little selection’: going from light beers to some of the strongest Belgian ales. The service is excellent: they are always very friendly and they know which beers to recommend. Also the beer is served beautifully in proper glasses (and most of all the glass matches with the beer you chose). This is one of the best places in Bruges, if not the best (in Belgium?) to go away, if not because of the friendly service, than for the fantastic atmosphere or the wide range of beers you have! | cosmicpolly (1), Bruges, Belgium does not count - explanation | | April 8, 2009 You enter a spacious dark cellar with cosy lights and lovely music in the background. Very popular with young and older people.
They offer a quiet nice range of beers (I thougt about 100-150 beers) and the beers on the list are one of the best Belgian beers existing. Service is excellent.
I regurlarly visit the place, because of its nice atmosphere, the service and... the beers of course! | Parket (1), Bruges, Belgium does not count - explanation | | April 4, 2009 [ Updated April 5, 2009 ] Big Place with a scriptural device in a cellar. I get the impression I step into a medieval big tavern. They play modern alternative/rock music (I think always one good album from Belgian or International musicians). And it must be said: the staff is always very kindly!Could not imagine there is a better beer café in Bruges wich I didn’t discover!! | | JoeinUccle (138), Brussels, Belgium | | April 28, 2008 A larger, atmospheric cellar pub across the street from Zolder. The smart beer list has plenty of quality, including serious lambics. Co-owner Rinus said that they may have to re-vamp the list as some things aren’t selling... I hope the quantity and quality will persevere. With some patience this will become a regular must-visit for beer geeks visiting Brugge, but the place isn’t well known yet. Ate a simple spaghetti bolo, could have been microwaved for all I know but it was one of the best I’ve had in Belgium. Nice place to kill a lot of time. Tons of space in there too. |
