A small little place placed in an alley right next to a very touristy street, surprisingly it seemed there were no tourists when I was there (late August noon), but the place was quite packed with Belgian locals from all ages and genders. The atmosphere is really nice with relaxed French music and friendly service. It seems like a family business since some of the beers were served to me by a kid who was about 8 year old. Only problem was (as in a lot of places in Europe) the smoking, which wasn’t very bad, but still I don’t like to smell cigarettes along with the beer aroma. The beer selection is not great, but it has quite a few nice beers and the place itself is a great cosy getaway.

A friendly oasis just meters away from all the tourist traps and crowds. A decent selection of beers, while no great discoveries. A nice place to relax.

The beer selection is not massive in this old back-alley tavern, but you’re bound to find quality here. And like its next-door neighbor, Au Bon Vieux Temps, it’s tough to beat the atmosphere. I believe there was McChouffe (or was it St. Fueillien Brune?) on tap. Most of the trappists and Boon Mariage Parfait on the menu, and a couple of other surprises. A decent place to take a break from touristing near the Grand Place.
