Interesting brown bar in a narrow alley. The ambiance is great with a good mixture of locals and people from out of town. The attraction is primarily the lambic on draft. It’s rather sweet and totally flat - but very, very primordial. The bar is a must see, but maybe not a place to again and again.

Another cool back-alley Brussels dive with authentic turn-of-the-century atmosphere. The draught Timmerman’s was refreshing and tasty, and it’s fun to have your own little pitcher and tumbler. Cantillon gueuze was on the menu, for those looking for the sour stuff. But the ambiance is what I liked best.

The atraction here, is a self brewd beer, not bad. The rest, if a very nice place to spend time with friends.

Good for a cheap meal. Nothing special beer wise. Service was adequate. It does have a nice ambiance and a laid back atmosphere, and is only 5 minutes on foot from the Delirium cafe.

You’ll enjoy the really cool narrow passage that leads you from the street to the door of La Bécasse. Unfortunately that’s where the fun stops. Uptight french resto. Beer selection is as bad as it gets in Belgium. Ha, but they had a draught, Timmerman’s!!! The french cuisine might be good, I don’t know but this is ratebeer, not ratefood and this place should not even be on this site.

Stopped in for lunch during my first day in Brussels - hard to find, yeah! Didn’t realize that it was down an alley so I spent way too much time standing around looking at my print-out map and looking around the shops. Anyways, the restaurant has a really comfortable pub-ish feel to it, servers all are professional, and the food was fairly good as well. Had the spaghetti bolognaise with the Timmerman’s Lambik Doux served from a ceramic jug. Good times, though only visited to have the lambik.

Didn’t like it the first time I went, but when I went with Jacob and Sahlholdt it wasn’t too bad. If you don’t give the staff a chance to pretend they only speak French they have to speak English! I thought the lambic doux was pretty good actually - provided you’re expecting a faro and not a lambic. They also sell bottles of it to take away. Nice looking place though.

Mmmmh - it is a tourist trap I would say. Expensive. The beer is served in nice ceramic pitcher which looks like the ones the Germans in Frankfurt use for their apple wine. The beer of course is everyones own taste (mine it is not), the selection of their own beer is ok.

Here you can taste the unique sweetened version of Timmermans lambic. Quiet, historic pub near the Grand Place in Brussels. The staff pretends only to speak French and not Dutch. Expensive.
