Located in a huge entertainment area, this has little appeal as brewpub; indeed they don’t seem to care much about the beers, and they propose all the same ones with one occasional seasonal (this time a bad one). Only good point, the smell of barley from the mash tun.

If you’re hungry & thirsty Big River can help. Food is goo pub food and for beer they do brew some of their own which are only available on site. The do sell some bombers (4) for off site sales. Have a family, they do have a family section. Want to bowl (5 or 10 pin) they are located in the same building as Zone bowling (40 lanes). you can have a brew & snacks while bowling.

A great spread in... okay, lets not fool ourselves, its in the middle of a field. In a couple of years perhaps the traffic will boost this establishment but right now it seems starved to entertain. I love the bowling alley in the back with the shared washrooms. I wish I couple have had something like this when living in Montreal as I did both (drink and bowled) when I was 15. Someone should seriously look at this place for office parties - its got TVs for sports and bowling next door!!!

The brewer Damon was very hospitable - though I hope he gets more of a hand in the brewing process as something seems to be curbing his art. The ESB, Nut Brown and Winter Seasonal were all good though I was surprised by the Pale Ales showing. If it takes more Lagers and Pilsners for him to gain free reign than set him free! The Cobb Salad a la BLTC was very enjoyable - as was local RBer Crit.

Always have great service, even with the turnover in staff. Always enjoy talking with Damon. Food has always been good (a little pricey). The beers have always been good when I have been there.

Very strange place, massive bar/restaurant with an equally large patio. Gives you a great view of the attached mall/entertainment complex. The bar itself is attached to a bowling alley. I only had the garlic fries, which were pretty funny, a few fries with a few cloves of garlic chopped over them... a five year old could be more imaginitive than that. Beers are okay, the ESB and stout are solid efforts.

A sports bar/mid-range restaurant/bowling alley combo, so atmospherically it’s a little weak. Service is reasonable, though they poured the brown with a massive shot of yeast and didn’t notice nor grasp why that was wrong. The lagers are avoidable but the ales have made great strides since my last visit and I look forward to trying them again. Bottles and kegs are available to go. The food, sadly, is institutional frozen Sysco garbage and thus way overpriced.

The potato and ale soup is fabulous. Most of the seasonals are slightly funky, trying for mass appeal, but the Brown is good, and Damon’s ESB keeps getting better and better. The Stout is also steadily improving
