| JoeMcPhee (262), Jackson Heights, New York | | May 20, 2009 Stopped by here for a few snacks and some drinks. They have a pretty good selection of Belgian’s and the staff seem to know the product. The food was pretty stellar actually, and was fairly priced for what you received. Four of us ate and had a few rounds and the bill was under 80 bucks. I think the draught selection could be improved, but they certainly do have a lot of bottles. Nice low lighting and music that isn’t intrusive give the place a nice chilled vibe. I enjoyed it and I’d recommend it as a place for an evening out with friends. | | goatboy (16), Alberta | | January 29, 2009 Whenever I’m in town I make a point of stopping by this place, They have great food, a comfortable bar to sit at and sample lots of unique Belgian beer’s, A little pricey though, its located in a funky bohemian neighborhood with lots of Italian shops and funky stores. I think it’s one of the best places to find Belgian Beer in Vancouver. | | knowbeer (10), , British Columbia | | January 29, 2009 Nice selection of Belgians, but quite a bit pricier than I care to pay. Worth a try, but not somewhere I’d frequent. | | tiggmtl (117), Vancouver, British Columbia | | May 31, 2008 Nice enough bar/restaurant/lounge feel to the place and the patio tacked onto the side looks out over the park and is nice in decent weather. Service is perfunctory and can seem a bit hurried when they’re busy (i.e. forgotten items). As decent a beer list as you’ll find on the drive though a bit pricey for many of the imports. BC Micros also available on tap. Food is quite good especially for brunch. Overall it’s one of the better restaurant/bars in the city... | | Crit (117), New Westminster, British Columbia | | April 1, 2007 [ Updated September 14, 2008 ] Decent enough spot, good service if sitting at the bar. Very over priced but I guess you are paying for the selection, although they only have 1 I haven’t had. | | CapFlu (179), Victoria, British Columbia | | June 27, 2006 [ Updated June 28, 2006 ] A pleasant "L" shaped restaurant with an extensive Belgian beer list. In addition to the InBev taps were a couple of R&B and Okanagan handles. The beers are fairly pricey and the micros on tap were in sub-par condition. All three of the beers I tried (R&B Sun God, R&B Raven Cream and Okanagan Dark Munich) tasted of diacetyl. I ordered a quality 750ml bottle of Darbyste ($18) Belgian Ale from their extensive (30 bottle Belgian list) and some Korean Ribs ($11). Its a pricey place but well situated on Commercial Drive and has a decent ambiance. | | Oakes (421), gone rambling, Vietnam | | June 24, 2006 Bright, wood-accented interior with gleaming InBev taps. The bottle list is focused on the Belgians, and includes several spec products. Prices are in line with Chambar. I didn’t eat much but the food I had was pretty good. At this point, the best bar in town for bottles. |
