November 26, 2009 They make pretty good beer, but it’s in Yaletown, so pretentious central. Rubs off on the staff. Not a must stop on any level. Too bad, moving along. Ohya thanks for the free meal... |

May 7, 2009 Didn’t really like the place. Staff wasn’t too friendly and the atmosphere was ... well ... not my thing. Almost empty room with just a few standing tables and black. Almost cheap appearance IMO. The beers aren’t great either. |

February 21, 2008 Another brewpub owned by a corporation (same as DIX) with trained staff. Above average high ABV beers, a good touristy downtown location. Good sized bar and fairly busy for a Monday night. |

November 5, 2007 Cold rainy November day in Vancouver and a brick and wood interior with a fire going! Not sure about the tiny tables in the bar, the red table cloths or the shape of the chairs. Looked a bit weird but the chairs were more comfortable than they looked and it was a good spot for beer on this day. A couple of intriguing choices on draft. Pizza was good with paper thin slices of green apple although the crust was a bit soft. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable enough about the beer to hold a conversation and offer recommendations. |

August 23, 2007 I have mixed feelings about this place. There is something I have never liked about YB, can’t quite put my finger on it. Sure, I can nitpick about things like the half-assed attempt at showing sports on TV. Or their playing nothing but classic rock. Or the schizophrenic "I’m a Yaletown meet market/but I’m a sports bar" personality. That would explain the 13" tvs with no volume on--no matter how important the game. Phoney, often horrible service and food that can be described the same way. The fact that it’s a Mark James Group pub. But I’m not here to nitpick. Sure, they have the occasional good brew but most are pedestrian. The good ones are usually the one-offs or seasonals. Anyway, it’s worth visiting if you’re like me and you have to visit every brewpub in town at least once. |

July 3, 2007 Half a dozen in house beers that are well made if not distinguished. The ambiance is a bit like a sports bar on the pub side and the restaurant mimics that theme although it feels a bit more open. Patio is plain concrete but that fits in in the concrete and brick landscape of the area it is named for. Trendy clientele but not overwhelmingly so. Service is prompt and friendly. |

March 19, 2007 Nice place to go out for for a bite to eat. Good pub grub. Beer selection nothing too great. |

August 18, 2006 [ Updated July 13, 2007 ] Though the adress listed is not the street you enter in on, you can’t miss this place. Huge patio, lots of space inside, and a few good beers on tap. We waited for a seat on the patio and talked to the bartender a few minutes, who was rather knowledgable about the beers. The food was not typical pub food. A bit pricey, but really good. I had a nice piece of salmon that was a bit overcooked but still good and my fiance had the halibut which was excellent. And for $6.25 you can get any of their beers in a "Big Ass" 20oz glass. |

June 29, 2006 Modern, open-air industrial appearance with a viewable commercial-grade stainless steel kitchen. Friendly bartender. One can get a flight of 7 beers for $10. And too bad I was so full from Central City... it seems the food is the highest rated here? |

April 11, 2006 Nice space to relax an hang, though too much of a sports bar feel Restaurant side and bar side of the establishment. Unfortunately playing country music. Selection of beer good, but they weren’t that good overall. |
