This place is pretty cool, I always like bars that allow you to bring your own food. And they also have board games which you can play while you hang out in the bar-ish (but not too down and dirty). The patrons and the staff we’re all pretty cool and friendly. But their beer selection isn’t that astoundingnothing you couldn’t get at a well-stocked BevMo. Obviously better than your average/random BAR serving BMC stuff, but probably not worth going out of your way to get to. One huge problem for me is that they seem to serve their beers at a uniform temperature, which in this case can only be described as ICE COLD. I just can’t stand having to sit and wait for ages while an ICE COLD St. Bernardus Abt 12 warms up to the point of actually tasting like something. Someone like their distributor or beer delivery guy should tell them it’s a crime against beer geeks worldwide to serve some of that stuff so damn cold. Pretty annoying. But at least they give you the board games to play while your beer thaws. I’d go back, but I’d probably call two hours in advance and have them take the beer I want to drink out of their FREEZERS and let it warm up so that when I get there it’s actually drinkable. Ehh. I guess it made me appreciate Toronado a lot more.

Feels a bit like an old New England or English pub that meanders past the long bar to different back rooms. I was only there once, 4/26/07, but it would be a fun neighborhood pub. 12 decent taps and bottles from Duvel, Maredsous, Chimay, St. Bernardus, Affligem, Aventinus, Unibrou, Delerium. Good place for a group of friends, but the old bar can be good alone also. They have pool, darts and board games. I’d like to go back, but from what their website says, they have 13 permanent taps and one rotating. For the beer hunter that could get old pretty quickly!
