The Yardhouse has a good restaurant menu and ~140 beers on tap. They have a few Belgians in the mix, but most of what’s on tap isn’t surprising. SECOND LOCATION: 71 Fortune Dr. Irvine, CA 92618 Telephone: (949) 753-9373 Beer list: http://www.yardhouse.com/beer.shtml

This is just an average place -- lots of drunk kids and expensive beer. Every variation on Bud and Miller products you can imagine.

Large setting and hip atmosphere. Food was good but expensive. At least two beers that we ordered were not what we received. One of the largest tap selections I’ve ever seen. Just fun to walk all the way around the bar and look at all the tap handles.

The food here is good. Expect a long wait if you go on the weekends. They have one of the largest selections of beer that I’ve seen in a while.

Waitress had little beer knowledge. Very busy on weekends. Poor service.

The Yardhouse smacks of imperialism when you see the bar full of 130+ beers on tap, but at least 75% of them can be found in joe schmoe's liquor store. Every once in a while a local micro will appear and grace your presence, but other than that, its fairly basic. The food is pricey but good, and its in a relatively dark but loud setting. Its worth the look if you have the hankering for something local!

This is the kind of place that gives craft brews a bad name. So they have 100 and some odd beers on tap. Try to find one you have not had already. Absolutely nothing that would challenge or excite a beer geek. Interior is done in some kind of modern euro decor. Service is pretty good but beer knowledge is minimal. Food is good but terribly overpriced for what you get. The people that seem to frequent here are the kind that would introduce themselves by asking what kind of car you drive. Go across the street to a real bar and enjoy the Goat Hill.

As jcalabre notes, the selection is wide but not very deep. A pleasant enough place, a bit on the yuppie side, but the food is good, and we definitely got good service (it wasn't very crowded on a weekday at lunchtime).

The Yardhouse has lots of taps, but usually, there's nothing more exotic than an IPA. They have the occasional porter. The last time I was thre, I had met up w/ argo0 and we chatted w/ the bartender about getting a few more 'bigger' beers in. I'll check back & see. The food is very good, and the atmosphere is pleasant.
