I had a great spicy soup and a superb yakisoba, fresh, refined and spicy. The serving was large enough, maybe not even smaller than average and with the average being too large, that’s perfect. Not a top culinary experience of my life, but so far beyond the usual pub fare that for a ratebeer entry, this deserves a solid 9. I amm all too happy to shell out double the usual pub cash to change the pace from greasy burgers. Besides that, they went for a rather upscale place though anybody could feel welcome. The beer selection is just stunning with all the Stone being completed by Dr. Bill hand-picked guest taps, most of them highly desirable at any time. It’s easy to come out with a large bill, but it will be a satisfactory one. It would normally not be the kind of restaurant I enjoy dining in, but the beer drew us in and kept us in through the whole evening. It must be said though that the place in this relatively new industrial area is not very conveniently located. The facilities are a beautiful marriage of industrial and natural elements. The beer selection is amazing. Food was delicious. They’ve done a great job of finding rich, tasty offerings that can compete with their deliciously over-the-top beers. Had the thirteenth anniversary on tap. WOW! Price of food and beer seemed fine to me, considering the quality of ingredients. Plus, I’d just come from a resort where fizzy yellow beers were $7 a bottle. Had all the Stone beers, products and goodies one could wish for.
Amazing service and staff, will even pour in 4oz glasses. Back has a big garden area that looks like a miniature wild park, enough room to sit where you want, or even on long chairs, and feel like you are alone.
Food is good, had the Brussels sprout and the Arrogant bastard chocolate cake.
Only bad point is just how price their food is. It is just insanely over-priced.
16$ for a burger? come on!

The ambiance of the bar and restaurant area is fantastic. As you drive up to the place you can tell your in for a great time. You enter the gift shop and there are racks of clothes and glasswear for sale, along with bottled beer and taps for growler fills. The indoor dinning area has a little stream that finds it’s way outside to the Garden. The indoor bar has a vast variety of local and imported beers to choose from on tap, as wells as a bottled list that is just as impresive. The food and beer menu changes daily.
I took the 2pm Brewery Tour and had a great time. What a beautiful place to see! I was treated great and you get 4 free samples but I was lucky enought to get a little extra.
This is a must see/visit site for any beer fan/lover. If your in the North San Diego County area make a stop in Escondido and enjoy a great beer or two with some really good food. It is worth traveling here just to see the brewery and the related architectural artwork and gardens. Pretty large selection, especially of CA beers, but at a price (though what isn’t in CA?). I always heard how amazing the food was, and both times that I have been I have ordered a multitude of their foods....only to be repulsed. Their food is really gross. Way over-spiced, small, and over-priced. Service is mediocre. Whenever you want something you have to go to the bar and ask for it, assuming you can even get the attention of the single bar tender servicing the entire place (both times I was here for dinner, so I don’t know if it is any better during the day).
