157 reviews for Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens
MaltOMeal (7), Land of Sugar, Texas does not count - explanation | | February 9, 2010 This was the final stop on our Cali Beer Tour and it was definitely the best. his place was definitely well thought out and a lot of money spent to design and build this mecca. The huge doors open to something like a castle of stone and iron with high ceilings and tall glass windows to see into the brewery from the restaurant. Did not go on a day when brewery was open, but really enjoyed the Bistro and Gardens. The service was great and the food was excellent, although pricey. When we went, they had around 40 taps, with many of those being vintage double ba$tard, RIS, Old Guardian, etc. Beer prices were excellent as we were getting 4oz samples for $2 each. The patio and gardens were incredible with heat lamps (it was mid-50s F when we went) and trees and water to provide scenic beauty and some solitude, if you wanted. Most highly recommend this to all. Will be back with my girlfriend to show her this place on my next trip to So Cal. | | ben4321 (51), Rockville, Maryland | | January 18, 2010 This place was really cool. What a great layout. I didn’t get to go on the brewery tour, but I have heard great things. I liked my food quite a bit. As for the beer, the tap list was good, but nothing really "brewery only" on there. Lots and lots of good guest beers bottled and some on tap as well. Almost looked more like a nice beer bars beer list instead of a brewey’s beer list, but it is nice to be able to go to a place this awesome looking and be able to get beers from many of your favorite breweries, be them local, national, or even international. I believe the only Stone beer available I hadn’t previously tried was the Sawyers Triple (they might have had a bottled cellar beer or 2 that I hadn’t had, but nothing at a price I was interested in spending). Anyway, ambiance is great. I can’t believe how cool this place looks from the inside considering how it looks from the outside. How cool is it to walk around those gardens on a sunny and 75 degree day in January and sip on an excellent beer poured into proper glassware? Really, really, really cool.
One quick note, if you have an older GPS with out-of-date maps, it might have some trouble finding this place, but once you get here, ENJOY!
| | LtDan (46), Los Angeles County, California | | January 16, 2010 The place is absolutely beautiful. Just incredible to the senses. The service has always been spot on. For a Stone lover, the list is heaven. For a craft beer lover the list is heaven. Dr. Bill holds it down! Don’t care for the food, but I have only gone during really busy events. The price is always fair. Overall, a great place for a craft beer lover and the family. | | blickta (10), California | | January 11, 2010 Love this place. Not your typical brewery/beer bar food. Do not go here expecting to get your everyday burger and fries, not happenin. Great selection of beers. Outside areas are beautiful. Maybe not the most kid friendly as far as food and drink selection but my kids love it. Expensive menu but you are getting prepared from scratch everything. | | crizay (119), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio | | January 7, 2010 This was the highlight of my trip. Walking in and see the growler fill bar you knew this place was gonna rock. Awesome view of the brewery through a huge glass wall, small bar on the inside with a lot of table seating. The whole side of the restaraunt is open air. More exotic seating outside, tables carved from rock, fireplaces, fish pond. Outdoor bar as well. Then the beer garden, it was like walking through a park just the most badass place to drink a beer ever. Plenty of seating with picnic tables, patio seating and I’m pretty sure every rock was strategically place to sit on. I did not want to leave. I didn’t eat food here after having to try In ’n Out. Great selection of their own beer and guest taps and the prices were very reasonable. And as far as specialty beers go there weren’t as many as I thought but what needs to be remembered is there year round beers kick ass. I think I found the Beer Mecca and it’s Stone. | | gerome (14), , France | | December 29, 2009 Great selection of stone beers including other brands. Food is great, the mac and cheese is good | | darn1207 (32), Tallahassee, Florida | | December 17, 2009 Went here a couple years ago now, but I’m trying to track all of the places I’ve been. So... cool place. High end restaurant and interesting architecture for the building. Remember thinking that the food was only so-so and a bit pricey. But, I was mainly in it for the beer and, with Stone and a nice selection of other craft brews, it didn’t disappoint. Also stopped by the gift shop and got a t-shirt and growler of Stone IPA to go. Can’t beat that. | | jeremytoni (55), Swedesboro, New Jersey | | November 17, 2009 Good selection of California and import beers. Decent tour, and good food. Worth the trip from San Diego. | | Sledutah (32), Utah | | October 20, 2009 I finally made it here last week after hearing so much about it. Beers: Wow, great selection of beers on tap and bottles. All the beers I had were great (as expected). Food: It was on the expensive side but very good but not much quantity (I stopped and ate at a taco joint on my way back to the hotel).
I would definitely recommend a visit to Stone Brewing.
Pliny the Elder on tap was worth the visit alone. | | mkade8883 (10), Goleta, California | | October 4, 2009 In the middle of nowhere, this place is very cool. Pretty effin sweet gift shop. We got a bunch of stuff from the menu, and it was all tasty as hell, though way too expensive for the food. Of course Stone beer is great, and the guest beers were awesome. Our waitress was crappy, but that may have just been unlucky. |
