RateBeer Brew Tour Guide's Comments
BJ’s is a very well run brewpub. Their beers are very good. They have a good restaurant. If you want to go to the bar & have beer, it’s nice for that. If you want to take the family out dinner & have a brew, BJ’s is good for that, too. Beers to go by the growler. They have a variety of ‘seasonal’ brews. A few months ago, they had their version of a Belgian Grand Cru on tap. IMHO, it compared quite favorably to the long-gone Celis Grand Cru.

| fordest (62), Santee/San Diego, California | | June 16, 2006 The best BJ’s I’ve been in yet. Of couse La Mesa leaves a lot to be desired. Much better selection of beer, and barkeeps that know what they are talking about. | | herbjones (29), Orange, California | | June 13, 2005 Probably the best chain brewpub on the west coast. Your not gonna find much variation from place to place with the exception of a special brew here or there. Food is good to great. Very kid friendly. | | JohnC (77), Mission Viejo, California | | January 12, 2004 [ Updated August 7, 2004 ] Note: BJ’s have locations in Irvine, Brea & Laguna Hills.
Very good food & service. BJ’s is a chain, so it’s worth checking their website for other locations. Some have cask nites. Their house brews are all pretty good. They are family-friendly. |
