| beer_sucks | first of all, their carpet looks like they robbed an old 70’s casino right before it was demolished. The beer selection should really be a lot better, especially in an area where people have money. Some nice beers, but also a lot of filler beers. An example of this problem is the fact that they have 7 Anderson Valley facings when they have such a limited space.

| CraftBC | A sister establishment of Monument in Concord, Jackson has a smaller (but still very good) beer selection of about 165 craft beers and another 40 or so mass-market beers. And like its sister, all beers are kept cold and the keen pricing beats even BevMo. While I’d make Monument my primary stop in Contra Costa County, Jackson stocks a good variety of beers including De Dolle Dulle Teve, Watou Triple, Moylan’s Hopsickle Imperial IPA, Flying Dog Gonzo Imperial Porter, Stone Smoked Porter and many competitively-priced six-packs from West Coast micros. If you live in the area, you’re lucky. If you’re on the other side of the tunnel, you’re probably better off visiting Ledger’s in Berkeley for a more eclectic selection.

STEPHENDR | Good variety of micros, imports, Belgians and other rare finds. Excellent assortment of high end cigars, with specialty spirits and a ridiculous wine selection- a store perfect for the cork dork as well as the beer geek. The staff seems to be more wine than beer knowledgeable, but there are a few guys their that know their stuff. However, if you love lotto, it appears to be the Lotto mecca of Co.Co. County

beerguy101 | Have to agree with bb . Not the greatest selection of micros. But you can purchase singles. They do have a good selection of Belgians and a nice supply of westys. Worth a trip if you are in the area. The prices are very good.

bb | I’m not really sure what to think of this place. It doesn’t have the best micro selection - it’s good, but not great and you can get better in Orinda or Walnut Creek at the BevMo’s. But what this has is a great selection of Trappist ales. Westvleteren, Rochefort, Wetmalle, Orval, Chimay... they’re all here along with St Bernardus Abt 12 and a few others a step or 2 below. It’s mostly wine and liquor and I wouldn’t say the guys behind the counter are all that helpful, but they’re not annoying. The prices are good though and you can find some good bargains.

| Screwface | A very good selection of beers at a store that is better known for it’s selection of high end wines and spirits. There is a good balance of the California Micros and Hard to Find Imports like the Rochefort, Westvleteren (sp?) and the Deus. On top of it this place has amazing prices that kick the ass of the rest of the East Bay!
