25 reviews for Perry’s Liquors
| bhensonb (320), Woodland, California | | May 10, 2010 Harpreet has quite a handle on beers. He offered an Upland Raspberry Lambic. Gave a rundown on what had just arrived and was in boxes. There’s a lot of beer, a lot of good beer, a lot of hard to find (in NorCal) beer. I picked up 10 I’d never rated or mostly even seen. And the man says he’s going to reduce the wine stock to make more room for beer. The sign on the front says "Craft Beer". Yep. Definitely worth going out of the way to see. | | CampesinoTino (29), Bay Area, California | | March 20, 2010 [ Updated March 31, 2010 ] After much anticipation, I finally made it to Perry’s in Livermore. The Singh family are very passionate about craft beer and will go to the ends of the earth to bring it back to their store. I couldn’t believe how many rare beers they had and could have easily dropped hundreds of dollars if I had that kind of disposable income. I came away with bottles of Nogne Imperial Stout, Goose Island Bourbon County Stout, St Bernardus Abt 12, Abbaye des Rocs Grand Cru and Rochefort 6. There were many other hard to find American and European specialty brews that will draw me back for future visits. Livermore makes a great day trip from the Bay Area and this place is a must visit for craft beer geeks. | | IrishBoy (73), Bakersfield, California | | February 8, 2010 Nice selection of beers from all over the world with lots of west coast stuff. The beer manager waited on me and talked a bit after he saw the bottles I was picking up. When I mentioned RateBeer he asked if I would post a review. Nice place with a huge selection. | | mrhoppy (74), Santa Clara, California | | November 30, 2009 This place is Disneyland for Craft beer drinkers. You can figure on paying about $2.00 for every minute your in the store. I dropped $73.00 in a snap. I scored a couple of beers I really really wanted to try. A New Glarus a Bells and a Founders. I didn’t even get too see everything in back. Would love to make the trek again with a fellow RB fan so send me a email. | | SamGamgee (107), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California | | November 18, 2009 Awesome selection of American and Scandinavian stuff that you don’t find anywhere else near here. Great service, and you have to appreciate the effort that they go through to put the selection together. That being said, most of it just doesn’t seem to be worth it for me, as "grey market" selections can be mail-ordered or traded for cheaper, and many other items can be had for less money at other popular bay area stores. Key for a few things, but the overall selection is less usable than numbers would suggest, unless money is not a factor. | | blutt59 (72), Dallas, Texas | | November 18, 2009 Typcial beer store but with great selection of beer, Founders and Bells? Lots of RR, Port Brews,Harpreet was very helpful and made sure I knew what was available in back as well, worth checking out | | ratman197 (112), Arvada, Colorado | | November 16, 2009 Average looking liquor/conviniance store on the outside stellar beer selection on thje inside. Harpreet is very helpful and friendly. The beer selection is amazing. Prices might be a little high to some but it is a little store not a Bevmo. If you’re in the Bay area defintley check it out! | | beerguy101 (56), Newark, California | | November 2, 2009 [ Updated November 6, 2009 ] Man. I used to bitch about the lack of good Beer Stores in the Bay Area. I can’t do that anymore. This place has a whole lot of beer. Stuff that rarely if ever makes it to California let alone the Bay Area. Great selection and Harprett knows his stuff. Yeah the prices may be a tad high, but you do get what you pays for. The markup is probably not that much. It would cost me a WHOLE LOT more to have to travel or trade for some of this stuff. | | Phil (20), , England | | August 16, 2009 Harpreet is one keen and motivated chap! He’s heading the right direction, listening to people and actively seeking out the best he can get. All I can worry about is being solved, I just hope his old man will let him run with his ideas and the back of the east bay will have a marker beer business.
I’d be back there in a shot and I can’t wait to see what he’s changed about the place to best deliver great beer. | | wavers1 (35), Notown, California | | July 31, 2009 [ Updated August 13, 2009 ] Harpeet is a great guy with a true devotion to both good beer and customer service. the selection is amazing, now featuring 32 doors inside the store! wow! there is rare stuff, and a lot of it. has a huge amount of rotation and gets some of the rarest stuff on the planet. i could score this place higher, but i have to save a couple points for when the tasting room opens up! |
