| maniac (90), Richmond, Virginia | | January 21, 2009 Stopped here on the way to the airport for RBSG2008 to kill a bit of time. Not a huge selection of beer, but the options are pretty solid. Seems to be one of the closer places to the airport. | | trokini (57), San Diego, California | | March 28, 2008 Dive with a good supply of local and mirco beers. I love the place, but everytme I go with my wife, some dumb, drunk bastard gropes her. | | Naven (54), Poway, California | | September 20, 2007 Ok, i’ll be honest, you wont find the best taps in San Diego here. But, you will find a comfy, cozy place that has enough good beers to satisfy most people. I like that I don’t usually feel cramped here and can jump on a pool table without too much hassle. They recently got a full liquor license which is great if, like me, you fancy a cocktail from time to time. | dc4all (1), California does not count - explanation | | November 19, 2006 Met my wife on a blind date here. Gotta Love it :-) | | bindpmc (15), San Diego, California | | May 13, 2006 They don’t have a full liquor license, but who cares?
Eccentric airplane-y decor, naturally. Pool tables. Racer 5 on tap amongst others. Blue collar, neighborhood, love-it-or-leave-it kind of place.
I love it. Decent beer on draught amongst more handles than you would expect at what is essentially an urban roadhouse. No food, but an excellent view of the highway which rushes past pretty much just across the street. A must stop for visitors seeking out some local San Diego vibes.
Two thumbs up on the cool factor, for what it is worth. | | swoopjones (115), Buffalo, New York | | February 11, 2006 My old stomping grounds when living in San Diego. Great Jukebox & decent beer choices | Wolfenstein (7), Sarasota, Florida does not count - explanation | | October 14, 2005 Opps wrong place. I was thinking 94th Aero Squadron | | Eyedrinkale (129), Astoria, New York | | August 16, 2004 A funky little place you will see from the highway, but don’t pass it when going 5 South. In the day there are a bunch of old timers from days gone by. At night, it becomes a hot dive bar. Two pool tables and a decent tap selection. Full bar and cool jukebox. |
