5 reviews for Ballast Point Brewing [Old Grove]
| WeeHeavySD (102), San Diego (Hillcrest), California | | November 24, 2009 The original location for BP, a good location at that, however, I prefer the home brew mart location 2 to 1. This one can get really crowded and the vibe is less beer geeky and less relaxed. Though special casks ten to happen here more often. | sentient1z (6), Mitchell, does not count - explanation | | July 29, 2009 Stopped in for a quick pint, really enjoyed the Dorado! I got to meet the head brewer and his buddy who just helped with the expansion of the tasting room. It’s not quite as interesting as their other place, but I had a great visit with them and would recommend this spot to anyone. Thanks! | | Snojerk321 (38), San Diego, California | | April 23, 2009 Went there after a long day of snowboarding. Amber was awesome, having a few brews herself, pouring full pints of victory at Sea.....needless to say I fell asleep on the car ride home. Nicely done tasting bar, mounted fish on the walls (fake I think), a good place to have a brew if you’re in the area. | | ajm (161), Los Angeles, California | | March 15, 2009 Strange that I was there the same time as Hophead22 and didn’t even know it. I was surprised that the place was open almost an hour early and I guess he was why, so thanks to all! I agree totally that this is on my list for San Diego destinations from now on. They seem to try to have BA selections on tap, they will pour you anything, and they are not shy about casks. Bottles are dirt cheap - won’t buy them anywhere else from now on. Also, the two ladies who helped me were both very welcoming and very pretty, so I guess there is something for everyone. | | Hophead22 (52), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California | | March 14, 2009 Had a real good time here. Kaaren really took care of us and was very nice. She saw us standing outside after going to the Alesmith ticket give out waiting for the, to open at 11:00 and let us in 45min. early. Very nice little tasting room, alot of nautical stuff every where. Very good tap list, the usuals as well as four special releases (BA Sea Monster was amazing). One TV to watch some NCAA conference tourney games while we drank. Very good prices too, had the 3 tasters for $5 for their little competition going on, well worth it. Always a nice place to stop, this time Kaaren put them on top of my list as a must stop in San Diego (even though she’s a MN Golden Gopher) |
