9 reviews for Speakeasy Ales and Lagers
| SamGamgee (89), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California | | August 2, 2009 These guys were very gracious hosts for RBSG, and made sure we had a good time. basically just a brewery warehouse setup, but with a small bar and stage for live music. All of their regular beers were on, plus some special kegs and casks for the day. Even though I’m pretty neutral toward their beers, the brewers are great guys and I would definitely stop in again. | | wavers1 (33), novato, California | | July 31, 2009 cool, efficient brewey with a lil tasting area. lots of great beers on tap for great prices. will def come back if im in the area. | | IrishBoy (65), Bakersfield, California | | July 17, 2009 RBSG 09. The guys took great care of us and put on lots of their special beers! Only food was popcorn but that went well as i sampled their beers. Beers were free to us, but were $3 pints to people who came for their tasting | | fidel (55), Livermore, California | | July 16, 2009 RBSG09- Open wherehouse. They pulled out the good stuff for us. | | Slopoke (10), San Francisco, California | | July 8, 2009 Being in an industrial area, the ambiance is almost non. That being said it is an incredible place. Almost lost in Hunters Point makes the place feel more legitimate. Only open on Fridays from 4-9, on a token system like Brooklyn Brewery. $3 a token and some kinda t-shirt-Pint Glass deal also. Free Popcorn. Last time I was there they brought in tacos and Burritos from a local spot for cheap. Now for the BEER. Obviously the Freshest Big Daddy anywhere, the Double Daddy is a powerful elixir. They also brought a Gravity keg out, a Blonde Dry-Hopped ale that was Superb. Balanced and Fresh, you can almost taste the grain. The Best was the Hunters Point Porter on a Bourbon Barrel. WOW. 10%. SMOOTH. | | Beese (50), Watford, England | | September 6, 2008 Fun brewery to hang out at on a Friday night, an eclectic mix of people there for the cheap, fresh brews. All or at least most of their beers were there from what I could tell all for $2 a pint! It’s a great place to hang out and play a game of... well I don’t know what it’s called, but it involves tossing metal hoops into holes in a wooden box... more fun than this description makes it sound... I’d be there every Friday if I were a local. | | bnselby (11), San Francisco, California | | August 16, 2008 Every Friday until 8pm, the Speakeasy staff sets up a happy hour on the brewery floor. You can get all of the Speakeasy brews (with the exception of the Old Godfather barley wine), and they’re wonderfully fresh. You’re frequently served by the brewmaster. It’s a very eclectic crowd - .commers, blue collar, thugs - and it comes together for a very enjoyable and unique time. Great to take out-of-towners. It’s in Hunter’s Point, which can be dicey, but don’t be afraid. We ride out bicycles down there, and we’ve never had a problem. | asedzie (5), San Francisco, California does not count - explanation | | September 24, 2007 Had an amazing friday night at the weekly party held in the brewery warehouse. Beer was cheap, plentiful and excellent, staff was cordial and cool. I will definitely be an extremely loyal fan of the brewery in the future. Had their regular line of brews and two special/seasonal beers as well. A real treat. Games and free popcorn, too. | | y0cola (21), fremont, California | | April 15, 2006 the tour was awesome. we started off with a beer each. this place is really tiny compared to anchor. i had no idea. shits like the size of my garage. our tour dude was cool. it was real informal and he was answering all our questions. beers after that were $2 a pop. happy hour every friday from 4-6 i believe. they had a bbq goin too but that was a bit pricey. good amt of people showed up |
