| nbutler11 (69), Phoenix, Arizona | | November 2, 2009 WORTH THE DRIVE. I absolutely loved this place. It reminds me a lot of Pizza Port Carlsbad, only smaller and with better food. Great atmosphere, service, and above all BEER. Their samplers are amazing, and there are few things as good as getting Temptation and Consecration from the tap. Bottles? Yes, please. | mkade8883 (3), Goleta, California does not count - explanation | | September 28, 2009 My personal favorite brewpub is Russian River. Great beer on tap (half American styles and half Belgian styles), and pretty darn good food (including pizza bites, salads, calzones and pizzas). Live band on some nights always seem good. How can you not love it? | snuffla (5), Chch, New Zealand does not count - explanation | | September 23, 2009 Great brew pub - great beer, good food. Came twice in one night, had some dinner then came back after a walk round downtown for some more beer. Great venue, nice vibe, just felt friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent and the beer range phenomenal.
Only wish it was closer - still, back again i think on my next visit | | billk (35), Coeur d’Alene, Idaho | | September 7, 2009 If this place isn’t the premier American brewpub it sure is a contender, especially if you’re into Belgians.
Prices are right, beer is good to excellent, selection is abundant, service is good considering the crowd. Food was good.
Good thing it’s not in my area I’d be there way too often. Big blackboard with the current brews (the way it should be).
Was in the area 3 days and got sucked back in every night like it was the center of the milky way. What a great place. | roundballref13 (2), Santa Rosa Ca., California does not count - explanation | | August 28, 2009 Always a crowd ,great beer ,and you won’t go hungary | | miketd (36), Cleveland, Ohio | | August 24, 2009 Got there fairly early before it got really crowded. Ordered a couple beers and some pizza. Food was pretty good and reasonably priced. Beer list was great with a nice selection of IPA, Belgians and Sours. We were able to open some of our own beers after paying a small corkage tax. | ohiobrewman (4), Hubbard, Ohio does not count - explanation | | August 13, 2009 I had a blast at this place and that was refreshing because I was exhasted when we arrived here so for this place to have elevated my spirits was no small feat! The beer was great, the pizza was terrific, the atmosphere was buzzing and experience has stuck with me for years and will for years to come! If I make back out to Cali. this will be a must again! | | NEA (10), California | | August 8, 2009 One of the best breweries anywhere to visit. One of the few breweries you can go to and get almost any style of beer that you want. their pizzas are great too. | | hallinghansen (15), Odense SV, Denmark | | August 7, 2009 This is a really cosy brewpub. They had about 12 different beers on tap, and 4 different beers in bottles. I had a tasting with the12 beers on tap. My lunch was a delicious pizza. Nice and friendly staff. If you are in the area, go visit, you wont be dissapointed. | | iowaherkeye (24), Bakersfield, California | | July 29, 2009 [ Updated November 6, 2009 ] After living in SR for the last 10 1/2 months, I think I can give a decent review on RRBC. Looks like a brewpub with old long defunct signs and old hop bags as decor. the tables and bar are made from old bowling alley lanes. Park in back on 5th street, you won’t find any on 4th. Service is pretty good if you sit at the bar and/or show up before 4 o’clock on any given day. The bartenders and a few of the waitstaff know their beers, but not everyone. Amir, Jeff, Jesse, Spencer, and Christmas have all worked there for some time and really know their shit. They do tend to be understaffed, so service is spotty if you’re at a table. Sunday night, my last night in Santa Rosa, they had 16 beers on tap--all their beers are on the chalkboard, with ABV, IBUs, and style. Belgians are on the right, everything else on the left. You cannot beat $4.50 for a pint of Pliny the Elder. The beers speak for themselves, and I’ve never had a beer that I disliked--scratch that, I spoke to the brewer (not Vinnie) a while back about a faulty batch of Damnation--it was buttery and sour--and he flat out told me it was fine. That is the one exception. Their menu focuses on pizza--thin crust, specifically--with calzones, a couple sandwiches, focaccia (which I’d skip for the price to stomach filling ratio), and other jazz. They have the best pizza in Santa Rosa. The pizza bites rock, and make sure you get a side of Savage sauce--a spicy tomato based BBQish hot sauce. Their jukebox has everything from NOFX to The Beatles to Coltrain. If you go during the day you may be lucky enough to catch Natalie, but Vinnie tends to be at the production facility more often than not and is harder to spot at the pub.
