| Naven (63), Poway, California | | July 2, 2008 Pretty cool little shop in downtown Sonoma. I accidentally stumbled in here while walking around Sonoma. The beer selection isn’t really anything too exciting, although they had a couple decent beers on tap. I had a quick beer on tap, but there was nothing for sale that I couldn’t get at home, so I actually walked away with only spending a couple bucks. If you are in Sonoma, it’s worth a visit. | | rayOfBeer (17), El Cerrito, California | | May 13, 2008 I loved this place. Right in Sonoma square, 6+ beers on tap which you can taste in flights of 3 - 5oz tastes for 5 dollars. I had the flight of Moylan’s Kilt lifter, Moonlight Working for tips, & North Coast Old Rasputin and then added a taster of RR’s Pliney the Elder... Yum. Small cozy tasting area where you hang out with the owner and a very good selection of rare/ hard to find beers to take home. I’ll have to make the 1 hour and half trip more often. | | bhensonb (375), Woodland, California | | February 12, 2007 There’s a long wall of beer. A good selection. Not always things you can’t find elsewhere, but often things you might not easily find elsewhere. The store is 1/5 beer, the rest wine. Well worth a trip every few months. | ahgibson (3), Los Angeles, California does not count - explanation | | January 5, 2006 Being a Sonoma native, I know that the majority drink beer at one of three bars all located in the center of town.Sonoma Wine Exchange is a nice alternative for people who care about beer. Its also nice to come home to this place for a quiet atmosphere. They have a small but educated selection of beers and wines and the draught is more than reasonably priced. Occasionally, you may run in with loud obnoxious tourist types and know-it-all tasters, but on the average, 9 out of 10 times its a quiet room with friendly service and is superb for enjoying a drink and taking in the town life. | | PorterPounder (219), Tallahassee, Florida | | October 3, 2005 Stumbled upon this place while walking around downtown Sonoma. Excellent selection of local microbrews, Belgians, Germans and Brits. Very neatly arranged and reasonably priced. Friendly service. Worth a visit if touring the Wine Country and you need a beer fix. | | fly (203), austin, Tejas, Alabama | | August 22, 2005 Selection doesn’t have EVERYTHING, but represents a very good selection of the region and some Belgian & other European beers. Dan is very friendly and obviously there to please. Nice selection of wines as might be imagined. Having a small selection of beers on tap only adds to the pleasure. Thanks to Joe(t) fro going out of his way to show me to this. | | marcus (128), Sacramento, California | | August 6, 2004 This shop is located conveniently right on the square in Sonoma. The proprietor (Dan) is very friendly and helpful and has assembled an excellent staff to assist him. The beer selection (wine, too) is outstanding, including many excellent Belgian, German, British and other beers. The domestic selection includes most of the best microbrews. There is a tasting bar in the rear, with several good beers on tap, and many interesting bottles in the fridge. This is one of the best retail beer shops I have encountered in the U.S. |
