| Gription79 (11), Bountiful, Utah | | December 31, 2011 A crowded little building. The food was bland and the beers a loaded with dyacital. However if you want to go to a brewery in the Tahoe area there is only the one. | | troyc (147), Oklahoma | | April 12, 2011 A small place that looks like it used to be a house. Parking is difficult during dinner hours. Our server was pretty knowledgeable about beer. Didn’t try the food, but got a beer sampler. Most of the beers were so-so, with a couple of stand outs. An all right place. | | nickd717 (80), San Francisco, California | | March 27, 2010 Not a bad place for the Tahoe area, which is mostly devoid of good beer besides FiftyFifty in Truckee. They had about 8 beers on tap, which was pretty solid for a place like this. All were their own brews - no guest taps. The quality of beer was pretty average, though easily better than neighboring Stateline. The porter was my favorite, and nothing was super-crappy. Food was solid but nothing special. The crowd is decent, although there was a substantial stoner/hippie contingent when I was there. Prices were about what I’d expect them to be. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll probably stop by again, if only for lack of better options. | | 3fourths (917), Boulder, Colorado | | January 31, 2010 small house turned bar/restaurant. local feel, friendly patrons. godawful beer, every single one with diacetyl and many with iso or butyric acid. the IPA was undrinkable and expensive and the bartender was not able to exchange an obviously flawed and infected beer for one less infected (the Bad Ass). | | jwbrewing (15), Sparks, Nevada | | October 10, 2009 Very disappointed with the service at the bar. I finished my beer and left. All the beers are made with extract. The one beer I did have was good. | | Lubiere (335), Ottawa, Ontario | | September 9, 2009 This place needs a good cleaning. It was quite full on the night I visited. The menu is mainly pizza and pub fare. The beer where quite decent, but only 5 were available that night. Samplers...since they only serve them in 6s, the barman refused to serve me the 5 (other clients may want to do the same....oh well). I bought a half pint 3.50$, and got 2 small samplers. I opted not to bug the cranky barman. | | boomerbrew (14), Texas | | May 22, 2009 I already gave a pretty good rating on the Alpine amber beer. As far as ambiance, it is what it is. The restaurant is in an old house so what can you expect. I liked the style of beer I ordered; a little strong that gave me a good buzz. The food was average maybe slightly higher. It was a good time. | | yemenmocha (66), Glendale, Arizona | | April 18, 2009 This is one of the worst brewpubs I’ve ever visited in my entire life. Location, location, location - this is the only reason this place stays in business, and perhaps the absence of any real competition in the area.
Beers - I ordered the sampler and all beers were notably below average. Look at the BA reviews for beers to confirm what I’m saying. Their porter was nothing like a porter. A couple beers have an off-soapy taste, and there’s little difference between their pale and amber ales.
Atmosphere - overcrowded, small, and within feet from the busiest road in town. Either you’re hearing nothing but road noise, or you’re hearing the loud kitchen people, or your chair back is practically touching the the person behind you in the cramped seating area. Although the location is visible from the road and easy to find, you won’t want to stay once you arrive.
Food - only redeeming feature of this place, and rather limited choices.. basically an assortment of fried apps, pizza apps, and regular pizzas for | | heemer77 (203), Urbandale, Iowa | | July 14, 2008 I went here early on a weekday and enjoyed myself. The location is funky and they played some ecclectic music. the employees I talked to were helpful and also really knew their stuff. The food I had was decent. Overall, the beers were average to slightly above average, I was pleasantly surprised. | | Inflames (30), California | | March 23, 2008 When your the only game in town it’s easy to be tops. I don’t see much reason to return unless the food, brew and service improve. |
