| BMan1113VR (65), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California | | June 17, 2008 Will return again, really enjoyed this brewpub that does actually brew on site. Ambiance is a little wierd, an otherwise classy interior brought down by kegs and cases of beer randomly placed all over. The waiter was very nice. I explained that I had already had most of the standards (but their were 4 special releases that I was interested in getting samplers of (10 beers on tap total). He brought out all 4, and brought back another two of my favorite two (all this at no charge on the bill [it red 4 samples @ 0.00 ]). Food was pretty good, my friend and I split calamari to start which was great. My chopped salad was good, and he said his burger was fine. Reasonably priced too. I ended up drinking the Red Trolley, Rye IPA (my favorite), the Altbier and the Scottish/Scotch ale (which the server commented was a bit off compaired to last year’s batch). Will return. | Oscbert (6), Sacramento, California does not count | | June 13, 2008 Even though the beer seems to be missing its mark, I really enjoyed this place. Went there for drinks as they opened at noon and everyone was very nice. Came back later for dinner after a day in the park and was seated right away. Had the sampler which included a free one thats not normally included! Food was really good. I had the En Fuego burger and my girlfriend had the Talapia Fish tacos which was also very good. We finished with the cheesecake, which is possibly the best cheesecake I’ve had.
Really the only reason to go here is if you are visiting Universal Studios. I would definetly recommend this place. Had a great time.
| smashteroid (1), does not count | | June 1, 2008 Never been here before, but excited to find a brewery at City Walk, where I was expecting to only find either high priced eateries or really low-brow fast food. Our table ordered a 6-beer sampler, and I ordered a pint of the star of india pale ale. Disappointed the waitress did not first inform me that one of the special reserve beers was a russian imperial stout, otherwise i would have ordered that. I had the en fuego burger, which was ridiculously spicy. Much spicier than any jalapeno-style burger I’ve had in some time. Overall it was pretty good. The beers were palatable and the food was okay. Beers were cheep, the food was overpriced, but still good. | | Charlzm (32), Los Angeles, California | | November 26, 2007 Visited in the afternoon, 11/26/07. Our waitress was nice and attentive. She had little beer knowledge other than what she had learned by rote, but did ask the bartender about one of my beer questions. She also brought me a free sample. Yay! Ten taps is a nice selection, but their beer is mediocore at best. Food was better than the beer, as seems to be the case at many brewpubs. Place was quiet and it is really the only beer lover’s choice at CityWalk. | | Saarlander (17), The Saarland, Germany | | May 4, 2006 After a Wiggles concert, My wife, son and I went to this place, seated quickly, with care for my child-very important! I ordered a sampler, and the waitress(Kristin) knew her brews, and discussed them ,even though I knew she was busy(I work in a bar), she let me know there was a substitution in the sampler, nice. and it turned out to be one of my favorites of the six! Great food too, the burger was great, and cooked right. not a rare beerlovers place, but a great place if you’re at citywalk, good food, and I had a good waitress. | mustangjoe (4), redondo beach, California does not count | | August 7, 2005 I liked this place. Took the family on a Saturday night. They said the wait would be about 15-20 minutes. We were seated in less than 5. The service was great, the food was better than average, and I enjoyed my beer. (hefeweizen) My kids ate for free as well, nice surprise. | | BigBastard (16), L.A., California | | August 4, 2005 Better than other places on Citywalk, but the beer is very plain. Good food though, if you feel like waiting. | | BeerLimey (76), California | | November 18, 2004 Well if you’re at Universal Studios what could be better? |
