| Dogbrick (423), Columbus, Ohio | | January 29, 2009 (Visited 05/2008): Old Baldy Brewery is unfortunately no longer a brewery. It is located in Upland on Second Ave, nestled in a group of shops and restaurants. Free 2 hour parking is available on the street.
The interior is dark except near the front where the wall is open. The bar is in the middle of the establishment, with table seating in front and behind it. It appeared there was some construction going on as well. Lots of wood with ceiling fans along the length of the place.
They have about 10 beers on draught with a couple goodies from Green Flash, Bayhawk, Stone, and New Glarus. The bottle selection is pretty run-of-the-mill.
Service was good on a late weekday afternoon. The bartender was helpful and knew the available beers pretty well.
I did not try any food on this visit.
Overall it was disappointing to not find a brewpub on my visit, and I am not sure if I would go out of my way to seek this place out again. However I would check it out if I were in the Upland area again. | | Oakes (593), Gibsons, British Columbia | | April 19, 2008 No longer brewing. They have a small handful of micro handles still, but no house beers as of November/07. | | Saarlander (21), Saarlouis/ Rancho Cucamonga,CA, Germany | | August 27, 2006 [ Updated May 21, 2007 ] A great place, what they lack on selection, they make up in House brews, and service. Decent brews. with a few others too. Food is great for the price, burgers are hearty and good. Smoking area, games, somewhat kid friendly, always good with me. A decent place! |
