The Grove Pub and Restaurant

Cute neighrbourhood pub with a separate restaurant side to it. Only 4 craft locals on tap, plus a bunch of macro stuff. Flights available, but with such an uninteresting taplist, it didn't entice me to stay. If you've been doing the brewery rounds, this place won't have any additional interesting beers. Wouldn't recommend.

A nice comfortable local with great service. Not a lot of taps but a few and they do flights. The odd gem, but not enough for a beer geek. Food is hearty and decent bu again nothing special.

Love the fact that they usually feature something from Half Pints. Pretty decent selection of brews and the service is usually consistent.

Good selection, relative to other places in the city. On my one and only visit, they had many from Okanagan Springs brewery. Not sure how often they change their beer. They have a sampler available which is nice if you don’t want to drink five pints to try new things. Really good burger. Quiet place at noon on a Wednesday (go figure). Used to live 2 minute walk from here when it was a dive (not the good kind). Probably for the best I don’t live there anymore; I’d spend a lot of time here.

I really enjoyed the food here. It’s in a cool neighbourhood and the beer selection is pretty good. More taps than most places in Winnipeg.

Service is fantastic. Arrangement of the pub works great with the Bar right in the middle of the pub with a restaurant on one side of it, and the lounge on the other side. Servers are fantastic and friendly, the food is cooked with great care and tastes delicious. Great selection of beers on tap and are always taken care of and taste great. Highly recommended. Located in a great part of town, walking distance from anywhere you want to go.

This is a solid place by Winnipeg standards. Worth checking out. The obvious comparison would be to King’s Head Pub. The Grove is classier (kind of yuppie, even), cleaner and the food is much better. The food is kind of gourmet, almost, for a British pub anyway. The King’s Head has a larger selection of taps, but is usually loud, crowded and dark. The Grove has a few beers that are unavailable other places in Manitoba, and occasionally has cask events. Decent place. Update they now have a local (usually Half Pints) beer on cask and it’s often a rare one off and the only place in town that uses a hand pumped cask. They also include IBU and ABV on their chalk board. So this places has improved a bit.
